Comments : PKT-3 was emailed to the petitioner the same day the case became “Ready” in the CAEC System. Questions emailed to Embassy were responded to normally within 24 hours with a maximum of 72 hours. Instructions in the PKT-3 were simple, easy to follow, and were completed within a weekend.
Payment of Visa Fee was made by credit card online and was processed/confirmed immediately. It is also possible to pay by bank transfer, although confirmation will take around 2-3 business days. Scheduling an appointment can only be done after payment/confirmation, and copy of DS160 Confirmation is sent to the Embassy by email.

Medical Appointment (November 30): The medical appointment was fast and efficient. My fiancé brought his vaccine records (which I highly recommend) and was told he needed (3x) more. As of November 30, K-1 applicants are required to have the 3rd Dose of a Covid-19 vaccine - which you can get either in Spain or in the US at a pharmacy. Blood was taken, as well as an X-Ray at a nearby clinic. My fiancé asked for a copy of DS3025 Vaccine Worksheet, which is important for filing AOS later on. He arrived one hour early and was seen early by the doctor. At the X-Ray Clinic, he was given a CD which is important to have when entering the U.S.

Document Review (November 30): The same day as the medical appointment, the Embassy requires all applicants come to drop off their documents for a Document Review a minimum of 21 Days before your scheduled Interview. While my fiancé came 19 Days before, it was not a problem. Total process took 20 minutes. He was asked for a passport photo, police certificate, and the I-134 support form. Fast and efficient as well.

Interview (December 19): The interview phase of the K-1 was very easy and only took about two minutes, although we did wait about two hours to be seen by the Consular Officer. Our appointment was at 8:30 and we arrived slightly before. Both the petitioner and the beneficiary were present, but the CO only asked to speak to the beneficiary. After 3-4 brief questions, he handed us the “Welcome to the U.S” Letter.
CAEC status was changed from APPLICATION RECEIVED to APPROVED two hours after the interview.
December 20 @ 10:00am: ISSUED!
December 22: Shipped via Correos (tracking sent via email)

December 26: Delivered/Received!
Envelope contained the passport and another sealed envelope which needs to be given to CBP at first point of entry into U.S.
Please be careful when opening the larger envelope when it is delivered - as damaging the sealed one will create complication.

Consulate Review: Madrid, Spain
Review Topic: K1 Visa
Event Description
Review Date : December 19, 2023
Embassy Review : The interview phase of the K-1 was a very fast process (less than 2 minutes), despite a relatively long two hour wait. Both the beneficiary and petitioner were present, but the consular office only asked to speak to the beneficiary.

Question asked:
1. Where/how did you meet?
2. Where do you plan to live in the U.S.?
3. What is your fiancés mother’s name?
4. Where does your fiancé currently live?

We were given the approval document immediately afterwards, with passport being shipped back with the visa in a few days.
Rating : Very Good

Did you get EAD and AP approved yet?
JaredShadkin on 2024-03-08 said:
@Fellaamazing No, not yet. Most likely the process will be slightly delayed as I had to respond to an RFIE. As a result, the true starting date of my application would be February 29, 2024 when the case was back in “Active Review.”

Hello! Quick Question: Was the VJ timeline accurate for your NOA1 to NOA2? Also, is their subscription worth it? I look forward to your response.
JaredShadkin on 2024-03-09 said:
@Islander33 I joined VJ after my NOA2 for our I-129F. I wouldn’t call it accurate, but it gives you a very rough estimate. Some cases take way longer, some take much shorter. Depends on a wide variety of circumstances that VJ cannot account for. I don’t see the need for a subscription.

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
