Hello everyone, am a 32 year old looking to get my green card soon. Anyways I’ve been married to my wife who is a US citizen for over 12 years and I was once getting ready to file paperwork but stop in the transition. I entered illegally when I was 4-5 years old and when I was juvenile I made some mistakes including a juvenile felony for burglary(young and dumb) anyways my last ticket for driving without a license was when I was 18 years old. It’s been a long time since I’ve had contact with law enforcement. I pay taxes every year and bought my house last year. Anyways have any of you had an experience or know someone that was able to adjust without issues?

Hello @90sire you have a somewhat complicated history. I wouldn't consider this case DIY. If you can, do hire a lawyer to represent you. Entrance into the US without inspection as well as the interaction with law inforcement can make you inadmissible.

There’s no way to adjust status because of the illegal entry, with the exception of parole in place for spouses of members of the armed forces.

You need a lawyer.

The lawyer will take care of the I-130 and the waiver for a legal entry and any waivers for the criminal history. Once that is all approved and an interview is scheduled at your country’s embassy, you would leave the U.S. for the interview and hopefully get an immigration visa.

Get an experienced immigration attorney.   You cannot adjust status. This will take precise direction and execution, else you might find yourself stranded outside the US.
