Hello. I have applied for the removal of conditional permanent status in Oct 2022,i am going in couple of days for my biometric fingerprint appointment in Indiana. My question is how long will it take after my biometric to get my new green card in indiana. Some people say it 6mos to 2 years, is there anyone get has recent experience of renew his green card in this category of removal of conditional status(cr1)? Please share tell me the time frame to get my new card because i wanted to go to my country for a month and its clashing with my green card stuffs and my country pakistan's airport staffs are most annoying staff in this world, they ask you stupid qs if you dont have a proper GC and just a USCIS issue paper to travel. My father is also US citizen so he has experience this situation. Thanks

I think monthly trackers for I-751 are still a thing so you may want to check there what was the timeline for people who filed around when you did.

Also when I joined the I-751 October 2021 thread I also lurked in the October 2020 thread to see what was going a year later. A year later it seemed about a third  of the filers had decisions or interviews. If you lurk in the October 2021 thread you will that about a third of us have decisions. October and November 2022  have been the most active months for our approvals.

Did you get your 24 month extension letter?

Anywhere from 6 months to 2 years and maybe longer.

What do you mean? You should have received a 24 month extension letter. That, your expired gc and your passport should be enough.

There is no such thing as a "proper" green card. It's either expired or unexpired. Yours is expired, but like I said, you are good to travel with that one plus the extension letter. If they give you a hard time, point them to page 10 of the 2019 carrier guide

FROM F1 TO AOS

December 09, 2019: Biometric appointment

January 15, 2020 RFE received

Feb 7: EAD approved and interview scheduled

March 18, 2020 Interview cancelled

April 14th 2020: RFE received

April 29, 2020 Approved without interview

May 1, 2020 Card in hand

REMOVAL OF CONDITIONS

February 1, 2022 package sent

March 28, 2022 Fingerprints reused

July 18, 2023 approval

July 20, 2023 Card in hand

January 30,2023: Online filing

February 4th, 2023: Biometric appointment

June 15th, 2023: Case actively being reviewed

July 11th, 2023: Interview scheduled.

You can travel without issues with your expired GC and extension letter.  I would suggest you make a few copies of the letter as sometimes airline employees do not fully understand it and ask for a copy, but you need the original to present at CBP.  I would not worry too much about timing, after the biometrics, you are in for a fairly long wait.

One other items, assuming you meet the criteria, you can file for naturalization in about a year even if the I751 is still in process.

Good Luck!

Its just mention on I-797 receipt of payment that your CPR statis is extended for 24 months from the expiration date. Idk if this is the letter i will use or uscis will issue a separate extension letter?

This is the extension letter.  Keep it safe, make a few copies of it, and mark the original on the back as you need the original along with your expired 2 yr GC, if you are re-entering the US from a trip.

Good Luck!

Would any marks on the back invalidate the original extension letter?

I just keep it safe in a plastic folder when travelling.

I don’t think so.  My wife put a small “O” on the back of her’s in the corner and she never had an issue.  This goes with the quality of copies nowadays, it is hard to tell the difference between the original and the copies to the unaided eye.  The reason I suggest this is one time in Beijing, the airline clerk asked to keep the letter, luckily my wife had a few copies as she did not want to give up the original.  It is also a good idea to keep a copy of the CBP carrier guide available electronically as sometimes airline employees require a little education.

Interesting. You didn’t receive a letter in the mail on green paper, with a light Statue of Liberty background, that said:

”Your conditional permanent resident status is extended for 24 months from the expiration date on your Form I-551, Permanent Resident Card (also known as a Green Card). During this extension. you are authorized to work and travel. This notice. presented with your expired Permanent Resident
Card. is evidence of your status and work authorization. (This extension and authorization for employment and travel does not apply to you if your conditional pernmanent resident status has been terminated.)”
