Thanks man. I literally just check this thread and the other chat to hear some news about you. I really hope and pray you hear something soon.

And I really wish I *had* some news to give. It's unbelievable to me. Leaving aside WOM suit, why would there *still* be no movement on my case?

It really makes me feel angry.

Thanks, me too! Lol. Seriously though, this is unfair and i would say unjust as well. I wish the best for us all, and pray that none of you recent additions face the time horizon I have faced in this. I might sound a bit whiny, but I am just tired of it already. It is a long time to have your life in limbo.

I am crying ,people are happy for holiday with their families and we are alone.

It's sad. We of course should be happy for the people who have been pushed forward. It feels all the more lonely because other people get to go, and we don't, right? There is just no fairness or justice in this situation, it seems. There is no discernible political or institutional pressure to speak of that would push them to solve Administrative Processing cases with any speed.

It's sort of the--and excuse my dramatic wording here-- "evil genius" of this AP category; no one really cares too much about getting people out of it. After all, the *original* presumption for this status category is that there was something wrong, somehow, with your application, maybe missing documentation on the innocuous side, or a background that reasonably calls for them to give you more scrutiny than already given, etc. That's clearly not what it is actually being used for in a lot of our cases, now, but that is the institutional idea that surrounds it.

And so no one cares about the AP people. AP is like a dumping ground where they can leave you and forget about you for a long while, after already having processed you through other background checks and the interview, just leaving you in a black hole. It is a tool that the govt already had, that as of late has been used, at least in all appearances, cynically. This has left us people in this thread in a no-win position where we are either forced to wait indefinitely or try to buy our way out (with very expensive WOM suits).

Make no mistake, I feel your sadness. I am more able than many to afford to travel to see my wife and be able to access sufficient credit to get the lawsuit going, but it has done financial harm to me. It has all added insult to injury, and it is being done to genuine, honest people who (in all cases that I know of) have faithfully followed the immigration laws of the United States, even while we continually hear in the news about people that do it the wrong way but find ways to stay there. I am not happy with the whole thing and, yes, i do find what has happened to myself, and to you, and to the others, as a form of injustice.

Let us hope for better times ahead. We are not there yet.

The last paragraph hits a nerve for sure, unfortunately those who have used unlawful methods get to be with their loved ones. Those of us who followed the law are treated like this. Tragic and disappointing to say the least

I finally crossed after my interview way back in October 2021. Im really worried for even more things going wrong. We got the stamp at the border (from a guy named Kitchen), but wasn't I supposed to get a paper out of the envelope as well? Maybe for the medical?

Do you mean your vaccination worksheet? It’s for your own records only, not super important.

Hi guys,

I checked my CEAC status today and it says “Ready” with the message:

“Your case is ready for you to schedule an interview at the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal. If you have already scheduled an interview appointment, please prepare your documents as directed in your appointment letter and appear at the Consulate on the appointed date and time. Otherwise, please wait until you have been notified of your interview appointment.

Additional information about how Immigrant Visa interview appointments are scheduled can be found at:

http://nvc.state.gov/interview

For more information, please visit TRAVEL.STATE. GOV.”

For those who don’t know, I had my interview on November 2nd, 2022 and my case was put into AP and I was given a 221(g). I was told I don’t have to submit any documents.

I thought the next status change was going to say “Issued” rather than “Ready”. I already had my interview so that’s why I’m confused. I don’t think there’s supposed to be a second interview for me is there?

This can happen right before it changes to issued. Congrats!

Another two meaningless CEAC “Last updated” updates on Dec 12 and 16. Still remains refused. They just like to play, i think.

Any updates you get now that you are in a WOM are not meaningless.  They are actively working on your case as that is what they are forced to do now.  You are 57 days into your suit.  If you look at the various file to close dates on our WOM group spreadsheet,  you have a few months to wait still but it is coming!!  Stay strong.  The end is near.

Oh thats good. My case is similar except i was not given a 221g and yet was just thrown into AP. In fact i was approved lol. Hope i hear something soon this week.

If you’re in AP you’re in 221g, unless your CEAC actually shows Administrative Processing. Approved where? Verbally by CO at interview? Unfortunately that doesn’t mean nearly as much as your actual status :(

Updates that close together, this far from the interview, and at this stage of WoM are really good things. I know you’re protecting yourself from disappointment, but objectively this is actually good. Give yourself permission to be hopeful, don’t let them win.

Although I'm not as knowledgeable as you guys are - I would have to agree with @throwitaway! Frequent updates so close together - I would even say regardless of the WOM filing - are probably a good sign!

Praying for all of us!!
