  1. I'm applying for permanent residence off a K1 visa. I submitted AOS, I-131, and I-765 on March 13th, 2023 Biometrics April 14th, 2023 Submitted expedite request for I-131 at end of April, 2023 Got RFE for I-485 for a "missing medical report" May 2nd, 2023 (Medical is not required for K1 visas holders) Responded to RFE with a letter explaining K1 requirements May 9th, 2023 Both I-131 and I-765 cases were terminated May 10th, 2023 The EAD and AP say that "We closed your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization, because the applicant or petitioner received a status or benefit through other means." My I-485 hasn't updated yet, but I'm really hoping this means it's approved!
  2. I finally crossed after my interview way back in October 2021. Im really worried for even more things going wrong. We got the stamp at the border (from a guy named Kitchen), but wasn't I supposed to get a paper out of the envelope as well? Maybe for the medical?
  3. I got an email with the subject line "U.S. DoS Visa system return travel document shipment notice" from donotreply@usvisa-info.com . In the body of the email, it had the Purolator tracking number. I did select to have it delivered to my home address. As far as I'm aware, CEAC switched to Issued on the same day I got that email.
  4. I got tracking information yesterday saying my visa is on its way! October 4, 2021: Interview. Informed we would get questions by email. October 10th, 2021: DS5535 Submitted December 2021 - May 2022: Multiple emails exchanged with consulate saying we were still in administrative processing March 2022: Congresswoman's office give us a lot of false information and then ghosts us a lot. We also mailed our senator and they never got back to us. June 2022: Started Lawsuit Process with Goldstein July 14, 2022: Lawsuit filed Aug 4, 2022: Lawsuit served Sept 19, 2022: Motion filed to dismiss lawsuit Early October: Goldstein submitted counterargument November 16, 2022: CEAC updated to Approved Nov 18, 2022: CEAC now Issued, tracking received I would not really recommend filing with Goldstein. We never spoke directly with a lawyer. Our questions were mostly ignored by email or answered incorrectly ("we don't know" would have been a better and acceptable answer tbh). We had to fill in many forms stating what hardship we've been through which took ages. I'm glad we're almost at the other side. I wish the best of luck to all of you!
  5. I did a few things 1. Checked my email for train/bus/plane tickets 2. Used https://i94.cbp.dhs.gov/I94/#/home to find my travel history to the states. 3. Checked stamps on my passports 4. Asked people who travelled with me
  6. Thank you! I totally forgot about the tracking number they gave me. They said I'd get an email when it arrived so I was focused on that. (I have gotten no such email). I checked the tracking number and it says it was delivered Nov 10th! Our case timelines are eerily similar. I did do a WOM though. I'm still sooo happy for your mum. Even if it takes them a while to process the final steps, at least we both know it's moving!
  7. Hey guys they kept my longform birth certificate when I did the interview. I didn't think too much of it then because I specifically ordered it for the interview. However, it seems like I will need it again for future steps in the immigration process? Should I ask for it back? Do you think they would even send it back? Would Ontario get mad if I ordered a new one? My one year DS5535 anniversary is in 2 days. 🥳
  8. An unexpected problem has come up. My best friend just got engaged and is likely to have her wedding in Canada next summer. It is very important to me that I go. My fiance and I have been in AP for 300 days. We filed Mandamus 2 weeks ago-ish. I'm optimistically expecting the visa to be in hand in December/January. (4 months til decision + 1 month to process redone medical + 0.5 month ship visa). I've done a lot of research on what happens pre-entering the States on the K1 visa, and very little on what happens afterward. Does anyone have an updated wait time on getting travel authorization (It's the Form I-131 I think)? I think I read that the work authorization(EAD?) is taking up to a year? What are the chances that I'll be able to re-enter Canada by summer next year? 😢
  9. Goldstein is taking on Mandamuses who are doing K1. There's a few of us K1s who have gone that route now.
  10. I visited my fiancé in the US last week and got through the border no problem. The customs agent asked me where I was going and who I was meeting. ('Florida and my fiancé). He asked me if we were applying for the K1. I said yes. He clarified if we were planning on getting married during this trip. ('Absolutely not"). He asked how long I planned on staying. He then gave me a recommendation of a bar to visit at my destination, which I later discovered was a bikini bar lol. Either way, he sent me through and we had a great vacation together! I just wanted to share the positive outcome so others may also feel comfortable visiting while still in AP!
