  1. Wondering if anyone has experience with this... I had gotten DS-5535, my case status on CEAC is still refused. My case number on CEAC has always been in BOLD RED. About a week ago was my last unsolicited case update. The same day as that last update, my case number changed from red to BLACK. The font is no longer bold, now matching the color and font of the case created and last updated dates. Curious if this has happened to anyone else and if it could indicate progess?
  2. Has anyone here had their Canadian crimal record check (valid two years) expire while waiting on the consulate? I'm curious if it's guaranteed that I'll be asked for an updated one. What if I sue, get asked for medical before it expires, but it expires before my visa is issued?
  3. Good news is that recently some people have already been asked for medical after only 6ish months. There is hope for sure! I had used their public inquiry form, which I don't believe exists anymore. You can just send them an email requesting it.
  4. I had my interview 13 months ago, not many updates during that time. I've gotten a few updates throughout the past month, so I think I may finally be moving onto the next step! The medical exam is only valid for 6 months, so those of us stuck for 6 months+ have to go through the process of getting an updated medical exam once the consulate requests it. Also, you can request your passport back for in the meantime if you're wanting to travel.
  5. Hi Amanda. Welcome to this crappy club. I had the same situation as you happen. My interview was short and seemed to go very well. My interviewing officer said she will recommend me for approval and even told me to enjoy my stay in my fiances state. My passport was kept. Two hours later I was shocked to receive the DS-5535 email. I'm so sorry you're here 😞
  6. Your case appears to be in final processing (as your case created date has updated to a very recent date instead of the old date that would have been there prior). Congratulations, you are almost there!
  7. Has anyone tried sending a heartfelt email to Montreal about this situation and requesting it be shown to the reps' manager? I'm sure it won't do anything at all but I'm about at the end of my rope here, just having passed a year in DS-5535 black hole. This is going to be my last ditch effort before I end up filing WOM.
  8. It's starting to look this way. I don't think it's guaranteed but I'm really hoping waiting a yearish is the magic ticket for some of us. I've been in AP close to 9 months now. Feeling hopeful there's a possibility of getting out without WOM.
  9. That is amazing news! Had you filed a lawsuit? Or are they actually starting to move other cases along?
  10. Hi all. Silent reader here. I've been following along with this thread. So sorry for all who have been in this mess for many months. Hi @Danii please add me to the spreadsheet. Interview date: March 1, 2022 DS-5535 sent: March 3, 2022 Category: K1 No other documents provided
