Hello everyone, I appreciate your constant help. Can anyone guide me to what happens after you file for I-130 online for a spouse living in the USA. I know previously one could mail all other forms together with I-130.

He has already filed the I-130 online. He want to know the next steps, i.e. adjustment, work authorization all other stuff.

 Thanks

Best bet is if they join and read the guides.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

@Boiler the guide only talks about mailing. I-130 has changed to online application for people living in the USA.

Online submittal for I-130 is for any immediate relative, no matter if the petitioner is in the US or not.

Are you asking how to file if the foreign spouse is already in the US?  If so, I-130, I-130a, I-485, I-864, I-765, I-131 can all be filed together, in paper.

Or the I-130 can be filed online and the petitioner waits for the receipt number to file the I-485, I-864, I-765 and I-131, by paper.

@stevelnbostonI130, have already filed I-130 on line, do not know when to file the rest of the forms.( I-485, I-864, I-765 and I-131)

thanx

Because  you are reading the visa guide instead of the adjustment of status guide.  All those other forms are related to adjusting status.  Are you sure you are actually "helping".  Should have  filed everything all at once by mail.

The other forms are filed when the I-130 receipt number is known from the NOA1.

I have helped a few people personally but I keep within my area of knowledge, just too dangerous when you do not know what you do not know. I have come across a few issues which I could see are problems and did not know the answers. So I tell them what the issue is and leave it to them what to do.

That seems fair, not my business and more importantly it is one thing helping people within your area of knowledge but no way would I want to be responsible for something so important to most people beyond my knowledge.

Last adjustment I did everything was filed together, did not see the point of filing the I 130 electronically. I know of some Lawyers who do not file electronically as they do not trust USCIS systems.

A quick review of the ToS seems in order.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”
