We recently file our case, September 25th to be exact, and I´m wondering whats the best way to follow it and be able to know what agency will be processing it, NOA´S, etc.

Also, will the agency handling our case be related to the State where it was filed, like if we did in Arizona, will it go to Texas or Nebraska,  maybe?

When you get the NOA1 - receipt of application - there will be a case number that you can use to check your status at USCIS website.

A better method is to join the September 2021 filers in the CR1/IR1 case filing and progress forum.  That way you can keep tabs with your fellow September filers.

They send the applications to various service centers based on case load.  It is not based on location of the petitioner.  It can go to any service center.  The assigned service center will be at the bottom of the NOA1 letter.  Recently, many people have reported that their cases were shuffled to other service centers than what was in the NOA1.  USCIS seems to do that more often nowadays - re-assign petitions to load balance the number of petitions at each center.

Thank you Steve, that was very helpful, I already joined the September topic.

Where I´m a bit confused is that we got a payment confirmation the next day, and that was it, not sure if thats our NOA1 or we´re missing that.

The payment confirmation is not the NOA1.  As it appears you filed via paper,  you will have to wait for the physical mail to see your NOA1.   If you have a online filing,  the NOA1 would be present minutes after filing.

We actually filed online, and that’s the only notification we have received so far, that’s why my concern here.

ah the location Lockbox is confusing.   On the USCIS site, there is a tab label Documents,  the item labeled as "Receipt Notice.pdf" is the NOA1,  oh you might be calling that the receipt for the payment.  That is the NOA1.  At the bottom it shows the service center, and the top it has your IOE number and your and your spouses names.

That’s not what I received. I’m attaching the email I got after filing, and what it says when I check on my case status. As you can see, it’s only a payment confirmation and doesn’t have the information that you’re mentioning 😪

From the Selections, where it is currently "Case status" select "Documents", there you should see

USCIS Notices

Notices (1 of 1)

Receipt Notice.pdf

Thank you so much Troy, I found it there 🙌

Next time make sure to hide/redact your case number and keep it private to yourself.
