So we applied for ROC in July 2020.  We got our extension letter for 18 months at the end of july 2020.  Does this mean we will receive another extension letter now because they raised it to 24 months? The language I see implies this;

"Additionally, we will issue new receipt notices to eligible conditional permanent residents who properly filed their Form I-751 or Form I-829 before Sept. 4 and whose cases are still pending. Those receipt notices will also serve as evidence of continued status for 24 months past the expiration date on their Green Card. "

Yes, I also think same. But at same time, the keyword might be eligible. Inserting that word instead of saying all or even saying simply, conditional residents, means there is some internal criteria.

Overall over the internet, I have come across one person who's 18m letter expired in August, and he received his 24m letter in October (which again will expire in Feb, its 24m from GC expiry). The second one was a LIN filer with i751 filed in Feb 2021. He had an original 18m letter, and today he received another 24m letter.

All other reports of 24m letter are ones who received it as a first letter.

I filed my i751 at the end of July 2021. Received 18 month extension shortly after. Looks like a 24 month extension notice is in the mail today. Service center is Lincoln, Nebraska.

So for example if the 18 month letters expires April 10th, the next 24 month letter will take us to October 2022 essentially?  I know another couple on here is that on the verge of completing 3 years waiting for their ROC which means that they can't get this ####### done within 3 years either...

Oh no, 24m is from conditional green card expiry date.

I-751 filed on: February 2020

Green card expired on: April 2020

N-400 filed: No

New extension letter I-797 received date: not yet received

First 3 of Receipt Number: MSC

As you can tell from those dates, my original I-797 has now expired.

I was in contact with USCIS via phone and e-mail and they assured me in September that they will send out the new extensions (at time of the exchange I was not aware of the 24 month extension yet, I was asking originally about an infopass appointment).

Below is an excerpt from the e-mail USCIS sent me after a phone call.

Thank you for your inquiry dated August 25, 2021. Requesting an Appointment.

We are pleased we could assist you with your request today via telephone. As discussed in our conversation, Conditional permanent residents who properly file Form I-751 or Form I-829 will receive a receipt notice that can be presented with their Form I-551, Permanent Resident Card (also known as a Green Card), as evidence of continued status for up to 24 months past the expiration date on their Green Card, while their case remains pending with USCIS.

Additionally, we will issue new receipt notices to eligible conditional permanent residents who properly filed their Form I-751 or Form I- 829 before Sept. 4 and whose cases are still pending. Those receipt notices will also serve as evidence of continued status for 24 months past the expiration date on their Green Card..

For the folks who received the 24 month extension letter, where did you get it from? From your service center address or somewhere else.

This morning on my informed delivery I see a USCIS envelope from 7 Product Way, Lees Summit MO. But my application was directed to Vermont Service Center and that's where I've been receiving all my notices etc so far from. I'm worried it's an RFE if it's from a different address (?).

I'm wondering the same. It seems like it should be the extension letter. My case is at Vermont and I did get my first extension from them. This letter is coming from NBC and I am also a bit worried lol.

Just got my mail: it is the 24 month extension after all. The letter says Vermont, although the outside envelope had a MO address.

Also interesting that I was traveling with the 18 month extension and entered the US yesterday with the 18 month extension and the expired GC. The 24 month extension was already issued a week ago; i just got to open it today. This means that both 24 and 18 month extension letters are valid for travel, i.e. the new letter does not invalidate the old one.

I filed in September 2020 and only have the 18 month extension letter. I haven't received the 24 month one yet. My service center is YSC.
