Yeah. That's what I thought. How silly is that. So I have an extension that expires next month but a 551 stamp that expires July 2022.

Filed Nov 2019. Recieved 18 month extension. That expired July 2021. Went for stamp and that is good till July 2022. This week Recieved 24 month extension letter.

Question - is 24 months from passport stamp in July 2021 or from original green card expired in Jan 2020? 24 months put me expired again next month if that's the case lol.

It should be in the first 3 statements of your 24 month letter

It does say 24 months green card expiration.  What is frustrating is that they are so far behind that I got my 551 stamp as 18 month extension expired July 21. So technically I am good till July 22. The 24 month letter extension expires Jan 22 lol.

Wait, did you file I-751 and N-400 in the same year? How is that possible?

No, we filed the i751 in 2020, then got the 18 month extension about a week later. Then, a couple weeks ago (Dec 2021), we got that 24 month extension that apparently a lot of other folks got around the same time. Our 18 month extension would have expired around June, but we're not expecting our interview until August/September, based on the best estimates we can scrape together.

We filed the N400 this year, right before Xmas.

So you are in citizenship filing now. I wonder if there's an overlapping interview with I-751 when you are now eligible for a schedule of citizenship test. Let us know please when you make progress 😀

Yeah.  We have simultaneous applications pending for both Removal of Conditions (i-751) and Naturalization (N-400).  We've done biometrics for both now (well, my wife has).  As of today, we just got a notice that she's been scheduled for an interview for the Removal of Conditions (not sure the date yet, until we get the letter in the mail).

Short answer: yes.

The rule is that, as the wife of a citizen, she can apply for citizenship after 3 years of living in the US as a lawful permanent resident.  In fact, we just did that for my own wife a few months ago, while we were still waiting on her removal of conditions application (which was happily just approved a few days ago).

I can't seem to post links here, for some reason, but if you Google "USCIS Naturalization Eligibility Tool", the first link will take you to a Q&A from them that will confirm this.

One nice thing is, with the N400 application for naturalization, you can actually file online, even with scanned copies of all your supporting evidence.

Now... Down side.. She'll need to remain a lawful permanent resident in order to stay here while all that plays out. Last i saw, the application process was taking on the order of 2 years. So... Really hope she gets that extension and is able to have her conditions removed, in order to take the issue off.

Good luck!
