10/3 - Received online access code in mail as well as assigned A#. Biometric appointment scheduled for 10/27

10/12 - Biometrics notice received in mail

10/27 - Biometrics taken, Case status for I-485 and I-765 changed to “Case is actively being reviewed by USCIS”

5/20/21 - EAD/AP Combo Card approval and being produced

5/25 - EAD/AP Combo Card produced

11/5 - I-130 Petition approved

11/7 - RFE for better copy of birth certificate. Response submitted the same day

01/09/23 - Submitted service request for RFE since >60 days 

01/10 - Case approved!!

I trust that you will soon receive some movement on your case as well. I was really frustrated with this process up until probably June of this year and soon decided to just not think too much about it. So I'm grateful that the time is finally just around the corner.

Just to give an update on my parent's situation, on checking uscis, it shows that I-130 has to be adjudicated by Nov 13. After that we can send an inquiry.

 

However, the date upto which I-485 can be adjudicated is ..June of 2024 :( I hope we don't have to wait that long.

Just got some movement this morning. The I-130 petition on my case was approved and they sent the notice online. Also my I-485 was re-updated to say "Case is actively being reviewed" so hopefully this means good news soon! 🤞

Does anyone know how long after the I-130 is approved that the I-485 follows? We got the I-130 approval on the online account. But nothing on the I-485. Previously the I-485 status already said case was actively being reviewed but it updated again today to say the same. Does this mean anything?

It's hard to say how long after. I hope they are planning to waive your interview. Did you send your medical in with your application?

 

My interview for both I-130 and I-485 were scheduled at the same time.

Yea I sent the medical in with the initial packet. I hope so too!

It seems as though my interview has been waived. I-130 approved but not I-485 yet. I had an RFE two days ago regarding my birth certificate but I submitted a response the same day. Waiting to see what becomes of this...🤞

Thank you! It seems as though they are approving cases without interviews a lot recently. Cases which aren’t “abnormal” or don’t have any details which are of cause for concern. I also sent the medical in with the application and it seems like a lot of waived interview cases also had the same done. My guess is that they are trying to clear the backlogs quickly. I’m hoping things pick up for us September filers and everyone else waiting for a while!

My parent's I-130 is out of processing time and eligible for enquiry. Does it at all get expedited if I submit an enquiry? And does I-130 approval help expediting I-485?  The ** end of I-485 is October 2024 and we wont get Green Card till I-485 is approved anyways...

My brother (similar EAD situation different underlying petition though) got his EAD few days after writing them.

 

In order to receive help from them you must:

 

-Be outside of your normal processing time

-Have contacted UsCiS regarding your case

-Have another compelling reason (my brother used hardship)

 

When asking for assistance, try to “add drama” to the petition. Like you are in a very stressful situation by not being able to work and help the family income.

 

it is not a 100% success option but I have seen a lot of people receiving their documents/approving petitions after contacting them. I believe it is worth to try

Finally an update on my case: I never tried to expedite because I didn’t qualify. Instead, I was finally able to leave an e-inquiry for a delayed case. I had tried to do that many times before but my inquiry never went through despite the processing times webpage telling me I was allowed to leave one. Finally on November 7 my inquiry went through. Yesterday, almost exactly a month later, my EAD status changed to ”Card Is Being Produced”. My AP never had any other status than ”Case received” but it was now marked as ”case closed” and from the document tab I could see that I am receiving a combo card. 
 

Not sure if it was because of the inquiry or if they just happened to finally look at my documents. Just putting this info out in case someone is still waiting on their EAD.
