Temporary Consular Services at Moscow embassy

Okay dated May 14th This was on the Embassy's web site.

 

Event: Temporary Resumption of Consular Services – The Russian government has informed U.S. Embassy Moscow of its intent to postpone the prohibition of U.S. Mission Russia’s employment of foreign nationals.  Consequently, through July 16, U.S. Embassy Moscow will temporarily resume routine U.S. citizen services, including passport services, Consular Reports of Birth Abroad, and limited notarial services.  Please visit our website for instructions on scheduling an appointment.  We will also provide immigrant visa processing for priority and urgent cases.

 

has anyone heard or seen anyone getting interviews/Visas since this was posted?

Pretty clearly says they are only providing services to USCs.....

I am a USC trying to reunify my family.  Which is supposed to be a Priority case.  I thought.  The last line I put in bold stating "We will also  provide Immigrant Visa processing for Priority and urgent cases"

I believe they have recently done like 2 interviews that were cancelled last March of 2020. Other than that, they aren’t even accepting cases from NVC. I don’t think they are allocating any resources for immigrant visas.

This was posted under "US Citizen Services" so it sounds like they just returned that and the visa processing remains the same as it was before: "emergency" cases, people aging out, etc.

 

US Citizen Services were suspended for a while but it looks like they're back now, so that's what this update was about. The situation with visas seems to be unchanged.

The Immigrant Visa (IV) Unit of the Consular Section at U.S. Embassy Ulaanbaatar is currently processing all categories of immigrant visas prioritizing U.S. citizens’ immediate family members (IR/CR1, IR/CR2, IH3, IH4, IR5) and certain cases for beneficiaries who will age out of eligibility. Processing of Diversity Visa applicants for the 2021 fiscal year (DV-2021) began April 2021.

That's for checking that. It seems like Warsaw is the most open right now to taking Moscow applicants.

Wish I could be of more help than just moral support.  Would've been nice to have found an option beyond Warsaw & Almaty; but oh, well.

I've been checking the Warsaw embassy's website for a while now and just noticed this listed under the main visa page: U.S. Embassy Warsaw and U.S. Consulate General Krakow are currently only accepting visa appointments from Polish nationals and/or residents of Poland. Does this imply they're not going to accept transfers from other embassies? I was concerned what this meant for Belarusian applicants (who can only interview in Warsaw), but according to our own statistics here it seems like a Belarusian beneficiary was having an interview this month. 

 

Just thought I'd add that update here because it sounds similar to what was posted above from Ulaanbaatar.

I wonder if there have been any cases recently that have been transferred to Armenia (Yerevan).  What little I have seen, and heard from my lawyer seem to indicate Armenia could be a another plausible choice.

I did in April...this was the reply...

Due to resource limitations, the Consular section of the US Embassy Yerevan doesn't accept case transfers from other posts.
