Finally called the NVC and got my case number at least. Stuck on the "AT NVC" status. The lady said they wouldn't contact me or do anything further until the Lima embassy is accepting routine visa appointments again. Not sure how long that will take. Is there anything I could be working on or just wait patiently until the welcome letter comes?

Our case has been "At NVC" status since 5 weeks. We may be in for a long wait for Lima embassy. The embassy was closed 9 months in 2020 due to covid which has created a huge backlog. They are open now but i assume with limited capacity/processing. I read somewhere on this site that a K-1 applicant that had NOA2 back in March2020 finally got his interview done last week at Lima. I assume now they are going through the backlogs from 2020 which will take months before they start any 2021 NOA2's. I dont think you can do anything until then other than have them expedite if you have a genuine reason.

Depends on the case. Some people have gotten it within a week, others it's taken months. Everything seems to be a "it depends" in the k1 world haha

I received an email telling me and my fiancee what documents need to be submitted to the embassy to receive our interview date.

Are you going to send all the documents in one envelope, petetioner’s financial documents and beneficiary requires documents together?

thankyou

Hello everyone!

This group have been really helpful throughout our visa application. So I feel like it is necessary to update you all.

We got our visa! I'm just waiting for it to be shipped!

Here is our timeline:

I-129F:  June 4th, 2020

NOA 1: June 6th, 2020

NOA2: February 25th, 2021
NVC Case Created: March 16th, 2021
Consulate Received: March 26th, 2021
Packet 3 Received: March 29th, 2021
Interview: May 13th, 2021 (APPROVED)
*No RFE
*No expedite
Embassy: Tokyo, Japan

Questions asked:
-Whats the name of your fiance?
-Where does he live?
-Did he live there his whole life?
-What is his work now? What are his previous jobs?
-How did you two meet?
-Did he visit you?

The whole interview process went well and smoothly! I was so nervous at first but the consul was really nice and friendly. I am so glad that we are finally done with our K1 and will be reunited soon! I am wishing you all the same and hoping for everyone to be reunited with their significant other!
