  1. No need to draw up a lease unless you're paying rent via check or bank transfer (i.e. paper trail). Just be honest about your living situation. You should only have to provide the marriage certificate to be added on to his insurance plan, but you must do so very quickly after you get married, usually within 30 days. Chase and Capital One will allow you to be added to credit cards as an authorized user without an SSN. You can also be added to a utility bill without a SSN, but since you live with your in-laws, that might not be possible at the moment. I would not mention the K-1 unless you're asked in the I-130 or in the interview.
  2. Well you are not allowed to take your phone inside, so that is impossible.
  3. Email them, make sure you have something in writing. I sent a whole binder of paperwork + I-134 and they didn't even look at it.
  4. I got my interview today! Where are you all in your case process?
  5. There will be no welcome letter as a K-1. The only thing you can do is try to expedite. Good luck! Me too! Congrats!
  6. You just email the NVC with your reason and evidence to support your hardship. They will review and if you’re approved, they will send your case to the embassy for the interview.
  7. I got my NVC case # April 6 but I’m still waiting on the embassy to review my expedite request. I hope they’ll approve it and NVC will send my case over for the interview! NOA1 7/14/20 NOA2 2/18/21 No RFE No lawyer
  8. I’m going to try calling and seeing if I can get mine now too! I’m going to try and expedite.
  9. I just gave them my USCIS receipt # told them I’m K-1 and they told me my case was received on 3/23
