Hello everyone,

 

I’m preparing my I-751 with supporting and the packages is getting quite big! I printed bank statements for the past 3 years (since the day of marriage) and it’s like 3-4 pages per month. 300 pages only bank statements! Is that normal?

 

I might have to use a box to send it out!

I really don't think you need that much, for bank statements I only sent the last 2 months received. I don't think they appreciate over documenting. What other evidence will you be sending?

Agreed with advice above. It must be disheartening for an officer to see a file that big over their desk. One complete bank statement per quarter should suffice, especially if combined with other quality evidence (joint assets, wills, rental agreements, bills, insurance, etc)

Please note:  You need to send bank statements that represent the time you have been married, or from the time you opened the account.  Send one statement per quarter - but not just "the last two months".  Our package was not over-stuffed, but was still about 3" high.  Send EVERY page of each statement, though.

If only last 2 months you will most likely got RFE for it.

You don’t need to send all statements, random statements every quarter is fine, need to be last 2 years.

I have seen RFEs issued for not sending ALL bank statements.

A distinction is important: "all" bank statements is not the same as "incomplete" bank statements. The goal of showing them in the first place is to show financial comingling, so if the USCIS sees something iffy in what you are presenting they can send an RFE whenever. If there is nothing odd going on, there is absolutely no reason to send 300 pages of bank statements.

Also, I can see an RFE being sent for incomplete bank statements (as in, people only send the first page or the first and last). But to get an RFE for not showing 3 years of transactions? I have never seen such a thing.

Maybe not all, but last 2 statements are likely to get RFE.

The amount of bank statements you might have for a K-1 application and the amount of data required for an I-751 are very different.  The instructions on the I-751 form state very clearly that the data submitted must cover the time from the marriage to the time of submission - so that, by default, covers two years of data.

Nowhere in my message I said that this is what I did for a k1, I am speaking about my ROC and I didn't even need an interview. Everyone's experience is different, I had a strong case so bank statements were not as important.
