Hello,

We’ve been approved since june 29th 2020, we got the nvc case number but not the invoice ID. Is that why our case is stuck in NVC? We were waiting for any letter from nvc since july, but nothing came. We emailed them and they only gave nvc case number.

Embassies are tasked with the responsibility to request case files be shipped to their establishment. All cases have been delayed due to the virus and the short staff that all embassies were affected with. The letter from NVC does not come until the case is shipped and not when a case number is assigned.

(603) 334-0888 This is the number for NVC. You’ll call to obtain the case and invoice id numbers. You’ll need your USCIS case number, the full name of both the applicant and beneficiary and both birthdays to receive any information from them.

No such thing as an invoice ID for a K1.

K1 visa will process like non-immigrant visa, so no invoice ID.

Hi,

Please review the guides for K1.  You seem to be mixed up with the NVC process for CR1 spouse visas.

For K1, there is no interaction with the NVC.  They just receive the I-129F from USCIS, notice which embassy has jurisdiction, assigns a case number, and then mail it to that embassy.

People call the NVC to get the case number, but that is for their own information - it is not a requirement.

Due to covid, the majority of embassies are not processing K1, so the NVC is holding on to the petitions until the embassy is ready to start processing again.

The invoice ID is what's referred to as the invoice number. By calling NVC you get the case number and that allows you do complete the DS-160, Online Nonimmigrant Visa Application and get a head start in your country (country specific) on other matters.

And a K1 doesn't get or need one because they pay no fees to NVC.
