My I-485 just updated to “ready to be scheduled for an interview”. As I’m in NYC, I’ll expect to have my interview by the end of the year at best. Which I’m okay with, as by this November we’ll have been married for 2 years, so I’d rather wait and get a 10-year GC. Just hoping my EAD/AP moves along some time soon!

09/25/20: AOS package (I-130/I-485/I-765/I-944) mailed out via USPS.

09/27/20: Package received by USPS.

10/24/20: Received NOA1 in the mail. PD is 09/28/20.

01/05/21: Biometrics appointment completed (Brooklyn ASC). Case updated to show fingerprints were taken (I-486 & I-765).

01/05/21: I-131 mailed via UPS.

01/17/21: Received IOE receipt number for I-131 via text.

01/25/21: Received a biometrics reuse notice for I-131.

02/02/21: I-485 Case is ready to be scheduled for an interview.

02/04/21: Received I-693 deficiency notice in the mail (dated 01/29/21).

02/09/21: Advance Parole document was produced.

02/16/21: AP in hand.
02/26/21: New Card Is Being Produced (EAD).

03/04/21: EAD in hand.

😫😫 I’ve noticed that how long it takes to issue EADs after biometrics varies soooo wildly! We have no choice but to just wait, I suppose.

Hi, I just want to let you know guys what happened to me right now now.

I sent my I-485 and CR-1 visa through mail on early September. My case status changed on 22nd September as ‘Fingerprint Fee was received’ and it haven’t changed at all. I feel a bit weird because everybody was getting biometric appointment mail but me. I always check on visa-journey.

Therefore, I decided to call USCIS and I just talked with one of the agent. She said my biometric appointment is on 12th February which is next week. She said they are going to call me in 48 business hours. Also She was telling me that mail could be lost at somewhere and they cannot track it.

If you did not receive any mail, just try to call USCIS and talk with agent. You might have biometric appointment without any notice.

Update Got a phone call this morning. It took over 48 hours and less than 72 hours to get a call back. He verified my identification and sent the biometrics appointment document through email that I can print it out.

Hi everyone! Haven’t posted yet but been following this thread for a while. So much great info. My husband and I originally were doing a K1 visa but when I was visiting back in June we decided to just get married as there seemed to be no movement and our lawyer agreed that it was the best course of action. I had already gotten laid off from COVID in March.

We filed the i130, i131, i485 and i765. We included the i944. All we’ve received other than the receipts (NBC) was a yellow courtesy letter dated January 22, 2021 regarding the medical exam which we didn’t include. Our local office is Denver. Figured I’d start to add my timeline:

PD: 09/28/2020

Fingerprint fee received: 10/16/2020

Still waiting on biometrics... figured maybe the yellow courtesy letter means they’re at least looking at it? Lol. I checked with Emma and she said I had no biometrics scheduled yet. I don’t have super high expectations for getting my EAD anytime soon. Just the waiting game now! So nice to see others getting their biometrics though.

Took my wife to her Primary Care Manager on base to sign and finish up her I-693, physical.  I don't think most military doctors are familiar with this and I had to help her through the papers and vaccines, etc.  But at least now that's done and ready to go to the interview whenever that happens.

Nothing to do now but wait.

@Skyman only doctors listed here can complete I-693.

Also, after a doctor completes a I-693, you have 60 days to submit it (or bring to interview) to USCIS. An I-693 becomes invalid if not submitted within 60 days of completion. Once it is submitted, it remains valid for 2 years.

RoC Timeline:

  1. 12/04/2023 - Application sent to USCIS Elgin, IL lockbox
  2. 12/07/2023 - Application received by USCIS
  3. 12/12/2023 - Received "Your case received" text message from USCIS. Receiipt # starts with IOE
  4. 12/13/2023 - Check cashed by USCIS
  5. 12/19/2023 - Received in mail the I797 with the receipt number and the online access code
  6. 12/19/2023 - Received in mail the bio-metric re-use notification
  7. 12/21/2023 - Received in mail the I797 NoA extending my green card by 48 months

See part B of chapter 3.

Also, I see where the 693 expires in 2 years but not where it must be submitted within 60 days. Do you have a link to that?

All I can see is

"NOTE: The Form I-693 must be dated no earlier than 60 days before you filed your underlying application."

But nothing about it being required to be submitted within 60 days.

@Skyman I was not aware of those special provisions. As far as the 60 days is concerned, following is a quote from the document that I am linking below. But this might or might not apply to your case. I am not sure.

Quote

The Form I-693 that the applicant submitted is signed by a civil surgeon no more than 60 days before the date the applicant filed an application for the underlying immigration benefit; [22]
