No. You could argue they were attempting to subdue him and make a citizen's arrest. You do know why they were chasing him, I would assume. I would say he rightly deserved being whacked with a skateboard and is lucky that he wasn't shot himself. And furthermore his 'luck' in this manner wasn't due to him wanting to play little wannabe 'tough guy' instead of being back at home in his state where he belonged instead of breaking the law. He is charged with murder for a reason and more will come.

that's weak - subdue him?  he wasn't playing tough guy either, he was running away.

He was running away because he had murdered someone and was trying to be subdued by those who had witnessed it.

Doesn't matter what you think the intention were. Those people were attempting to subdue him and also call for help (which was ignored). I would hope that if any of you guys in this thread that own weapons and carry them on your person had witnessed a shooting and saw the person running away that you would also try and stop that person. He broke the several laws, committed murder, and there are serious consequences to his actions.

you're right that it doesn't matter what the intentions are regarding the convicted felon with a pistol.  he should not have had one - period.

as one who does own weapons and carry them, i am under no obligation to try to stop someone.  and what you call murder appears to be self defense on his part.

The juvenile shouldn't have had the gun or been there either. Nothing in the charges against him helps self defense in the case. But we'll see won't we?

You aren't under obligation to stop someone, but that does make one wonder why you have a weapon in the first place if you're never going to help anyone.. which is often the excuse heard as to why to own a weapon (a good guy with a gun stops a bad guy with a gun).. hmmm..

So the argument that everyone should arm themselves because a good guy with a gun will always win against bad guy with a gun is just an excuse that talking heads like to say, huh? I mean jeez, if everyone in the crowd that night had guns we could have had ourselves a good ol' regular shootout for giggles. Since everyone could be packing, pointing, and shooting to protect themselves.

so you're going to wander off into hyperbole land with that.  enjoy the trip.
explain to me why i should put my life at risk - both literally and financially - for you or anyone else when i see "...the person running away that you would also try and stop that person."

CEHST always seems to have hyperbole around every corner and I like being devil's advocate sometimes. I'm still trying to understand why it's acceptable to celebrate a juvenile that broke multiple laws and murdered people in the process and why it wouldn't be acceptable to try and subdue him using any means necessary ... but that's where we are now so..  YOU personally may not want to try and do that, but don't be surprised that there might be people that want to actually help.

you keep using the word murder when he was defending himself against one individual hitting him with a skateboard and another who was forbidden to posses a firearm due to being a felon.  what's difficult to understand about that?  not to mention he was a minor.  are you ok with people beating kids?
something time has taught me is that discretion is the better part of valor.  in your scenario, someone running away does not constitute a threat to me.

Some good threads detailing what happened and who these people are:

Some interesting points about this that I'm sure won't be liked by some, but the truth doesn't care about feelings or wild theories:

Rittenhouse is seen cleaning up graffiti before defending businesses and people from arson, rioting, and looting. The police know of his presence, his weapon, and approve. That mob attacks him, he runs, they throw a molotov or some other incendiary device at him and continue to chase, leading up to the first shooting. There's even evidence of someone firing a pistol at him before his first shot:

Quote

To better understand what happened next, we synchronized 6 livestreams, which revealed that there were two separate shooting incidents, about one and a half minutes apart, involving multiple gunmen.

At 23:19, Rittenhouse is seen in this YouTube livestream. He's being chased into a parking lot. While he is being pursued, an unknown gunman fires the first shot into the air.

Quote

Rittenhouse turns toward the sound of the gunfire as another pursuer lunges toward him. He then fires four times with his assault rifle, and appears to shoot the man in the head.

The muzzle flash of the first shot by the unknown gunman and the smoke rising from the handgun can be seen in this video capturing the first shooting from a different angle.

Then the others:

Quote

While fleeing from the scene, Rittenhouse is again chased by several people. He trips and falls to the ground and fires four shots as three people rush him. One person appears to be hit in the chest, while another, who is carrying a handgun, is hit in the arm.

Quote

At the same time, we hear at least 8 gunshots from farther away. Mr. Rittenhouse gets up and begins walking north from the scene, and 8 more gunshots are heard from closer range. It’s unclear who fired the other gunshots.

Police vehicles just one block away remain stationary during the gunfire. Rittenhouse walks with his hands up toward the police, as bystanders call out that he was involved in the shooting. The police drive by him to the scene of the shootings, without stopping.

Of the latest ones shot, one has a gun, the other hits him with a skateboard on the ground while they're "rushing" him.

About the wonderful "victims":

Quote

Anthony Huber, 26, was shot & killed in Kenosha, Wisc. at the BLM riot. He was filmed chasing down the armed teen and hitting him when he was on the ground with a skateboard. He has a criminal history that includes charges of battery & repeat domestic abuse.

The third who was shot (& survived) is Gaige Grosskreutz, 26. He's a member of the People’s Revolution Movement. He was filmed chasing after the teen w/a pistol. He was shot at close-range in the upper arm. He has a criminal record that includes being intoxicated & armed w/a gun.

Have fun defending this, he (Rittenhouse, the teen) may have been stupidly charged with a slew of crimes, but it's very clear right away he was acting in self defense, doubtful a single charge there (trying not to laugh at the 1st degree murder charges) results in a guilty verdict/plea, may not even make it to a trial.

Those people shot deserved it, and it's about time these violent lunatics are starting to feel force back on them for the wanton destruction they're causing and harm they're doing to others. Those defending these people.. says a lot about them.

BLM is rapidly losing its support, and its quickly affecting the Democratic Party.. condolences to those who bought into the media hype about Trump getting trainwrecked in the election. I expect we're going to see a lot more violent resistance to this domestic terrorism especially as they try and pull this stuff on the suburbs. There's only so much decent people will tolerate.

so throw incendiary devices at a kid and attempt to burn him.  an unknown individual (not the kid) fires the first shot.  a sex offender tries

to assault the kid.  another guy tries to hit him with a skateboard (that's probably assault with a deadly weapon) and another - a convicted

felon - pulls out a pistol and would probably have shot the kid.
and yuna wants to defend a molotov throwing sex offender, someone assaulting a minor with a deadly weapon, and a convicted felon in possession of a firearm.

just awesome.............

Was he, or was he not charged with murder and multiple counts related to murder as the criminal complaint describes? The state and police do not believe he was defending himself. You do understand that he broke multiple laws relating to the possession of a firearm? He did not belong there and he did not belong carrying that weapon. His mother may also be potentially charged with aiding and abetting.

Was he, or was he not charged with murder and multiple counts related to murder as the criminal complaint describes? The state and police do not believe he was defending himself. You do understand that he broke multiple laws relating to the possession of a firearm? He did not belong there and he did not belong carrying that weapon. His mother may also be potentially charged with aiding and abetting.

yes, he was charged

two of the individuals in this story were not only charged (in the past), but convicted.  yet you ignore that part of the story.
