Administrative processing

       Hello!😊 I want to ask where is administrative processing conducted? Uscis or the embassy?

Can be at any stage - at USCIS, at NVC, or at the embassy.

Usually in the context of a K-1, when people talk about "administrative processing" here, they're talking about post-interview administrative processing at the embassy/consulate.

 

Extended (aka more than a week or two) post-interview administrative processing isn't common in Moscow (the nearly two weeks from my wife's interview to shipping her visa to her was on the long side for a K-1 beneficiary there there), but isn't entirely unheard of.

we have been on administrative processing for almost 7 months...😔

That's not fun.

 

To be fair, I'd guess that for the last few months they couldn't have issued your visa anyway, but it's pretty surprising that they hadn't before the COVID-19 related routine visa processing suspension.

Yes we are really confused of everything. Covid-19 makes it worse. And we don't know when this will all over. My fiance is a soldier. We even turned to the senator, but they could not help anything

AP - within the context of post-interview - is a process at the embassy/consulate.

They could be waiting for something like a Security Advisory Opinion from DC, but the case is still technically with the consulate/embassy.

That's why AP is taking so long. Is he still actively in the military and if so how will he get out of it to move to the US?

I am assuming Hanna is the beneficiary and is in Russia. Her fiance is a member of the US military stationed at Fort Drum, yes? I recognize written English from a Russian native. I was married to one. 😃

Oh OK. Normally AP at the Moscow Embassy goes really fast unless there's some reason such as the beneficiary's profession or government connections that would delay it. It's probably just taking long because of Covid-19 then.

It is very unlikely the AP is related to the USC petitioner.
