You are aware of the January 2020 EO that adds Nigeria to list of banned countries?

USCIS and NVC still work on the applications but visas will not be issued till this ban is lifted

https://www.whitehouse.gov/presidential-actions/proclamation-improving-enhanced-vetting-capabilities-processes-detecting-attempted-entry/

(ii)  The entry into the United States of nationals of Nigeria as immigrants, except as Special Immigrants whose eligibility is based on having provided assistance to the United States Government, is hereby suspended.

People were getting visas after the ban via waivers.

Visas are still been issued using the visa waiver program

Nigeria has never been, and for the foreseeable future,  a participant of the Visa Waiver Program which is for B series visas: https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/tourism-visit/visa-waiver-program.html

You are conflating this with a CO recommending a waiver for the EO Ban on Nigeria Immigrant Visas.

Visas are still been issued using the visa waiver program, we all know about the ban ,visa issuance will be determined by the interviewer wether you qualify for a waiver thanks, do some research before conclusion because those that don’t know more about this will have their anxiety kicking in after reading your comment, do some research on special immigrants too

I do a lot of research / a lot and i am not against you or anyone trying to be with your loved one

the waiver has to be applied for after the interview / he has not made it easy for you and i am so sorry as mine took 6 years to get the visa and it is hard very hard to go thru

Don't think someone who points out a difficulty is against you / i am not /  my husband is from Africa

but this administration is making it harder each week that goes by and we hear rumors about new EO's constantly

so much so, i hate to listen to the news

WASHINGTON—The Supreme Court affirmed President Donald Trump’s power to block citizens of several Muslim-majority nations from entering the U.S., a 5-4 decision on Tuesday that lifted legal hurdles on a central initiative of the Trump presidency but is unlikely to end the bitter politics that surround it.

In an opinion by Chief Justice John Roberts, the court’s conservative majority lined up behind a president’s power to suspend legal entry under a federal law that, they wrote, “exudes deference to the president in every...

There is a waiver available and the CO automatically considers the applicant. Not part of the “visa waiver program” and there is no additional fee for the waiver. It occurs automatically at the time of interview

Per https://travel.state.gov/content/travel/en/us-visas/visa-information-resources/presidential-proclamation-archive/presidential-proclamation9645.html?wcmmode=disabled

Waivers of PP 9645 and PP 9983

An applicant who is subject to either P.P. 9645 or P.P. 9983 and otherwise eligible for a visa, but who does not qualify for an exception, will be refused but is automatically considered for a waiver by the consular officer during the visa interview.  Each applicant’s eligibility for a waiver is evaluated on a case-by-case basis; waivers may not be granted categorically.  A waiver may be available if:

d. the foreign national seeks to enter the United States to visit or reside with a close family member (e.g., a spouse, child, or parent) who is a United States citizen, lawful permanent resident, or alien lawfully admitted on a valid nonimmigrant visa, and the denial of entry would cause the foreign national undue hardship;

You can’t have more knowledge of what happens in Nigeria and Nigeria embassy more than Nigerians. They are making it known that k1 visas are issued up to when coronavirus hit. Spousal visas which was banned also get waiver. Please let’s not argue with people that knows what happens in their country. Likewise they can’t argue what happens in New Zealand period.

Period!

I wasn't arguing about K-1 visas being issued in Nigeria.  Read the thread please.

You can’t argue about any visa category in Nigeria. Nigeria embassy decides based on the directives given to evaluate every visa category and decide whether to wave/give visa or not.
