Help appreciated - Need to return to Europe urgently after oath but what about the passport?

I am somewhat stressed and any help would be greatly appreciated! My husband is on overdraws orders and I applied for naturalization unter 319 (b).  It allowed to me apply from overseas but one of the stipulations is that the interview and oath will take place in the US. 

 

However, I can’t get an expedited US passport after the oath because they don’t offer that service right now.

 

I have minor kids, my husband and also my job overseas and can’t afford to get stuck in DC.

 

What are my options? Could I just leave and then travel back on my German passport?  Or would I be allowed to apply for the passport from our base or through the embassy in Frankfurt? Or could I apply for my passport and have it sent to our APO address?

 

I know we are supposed to wait for the passport but I am looking for alternative solutions and would appreciate your help!

not recommended but can you not have some one collect it in US.

Maybe? I think it depends on if they're open, given the pandemic situation.

I’d think in this situation you should be fine to return to Germany and then apply via Frankfurt consulate to get the passport. Do send them an email to verify (American citizen services) and do expect it to take some time as passport printing centers just started working on passport requests submitted in February- first in first out rule.

They have reopened on our base. It may take a while but at least I wouldn’t be sitting in a hotel room waiting for the passport perhaps for weeks as the offices are only in phase 1 and I expect it will take a few more weeks to reopen all the way to phase 3.

Hello! 

 

I am wondering if you were able to find a solution to your situation. 

I am going to be in similar situation in September. I currently live in Germany with my family and will be traveling to the U.S. for my interview. Were you able to contact either the U.S. Consulate or the passport office on base to see if you can apply for your passport from Germany?

After citizenship, return back to your base and apply for passport from there.

After citizenship, she can't return to Germany on a German passport. 

Germany does not allow dual citizenship, unless requested prior. (like 2 years prior)

Can you use anyone's address in the US?

Go to the PO, send in for your passport and when your document and passport come back, have them mail it to you.

They have no way of telling she became a US citizen unless she does.

Don’t you need no fee passport to go pcs under sofa? I have the same issue. I just got an email to pick up the interview date for my naturalization. 
I’m thinking of applying both of them and see which one comes faster and leave with it.

I hope they have expedite service again :,(
