On Thursday, US President Donald Trump suggested that scientists may want to explore bringing UV light inside the body to kill a Covid-19 infection, or should consider the use of disinfectant that "knocks it out in a minute ... by injection inside or almost a cleaning."

"I certainly wouldn't recommend the internal ingestion of a disinfectant," said US Food and Drug Administration commissioner Dr. Stephen Hahn, who is also a member of the White House coronavirus task force.

Speaking on CNN's global coronavirus town hall, Hahn added that it's a "natural question" given that there is some preliminary data showing that light therapy can have an impact on the coronavirus.

Dr. Leana Wen, the former Baltimore health commissioner, agreed that nobody should be ingesting bleach or other disinfectants.

"I don't think there's any need to hedge on that," she said. "Do not try these things at home, and follow your doctor's advice and follow good public health guidance."

I’m pretty confident no one needs to be told not to inject bleach in themselves.

 

I am sure it was a think out loud sort of moment - the question should have been any treatment that might act like a disinfectant.

Only preventative.  Im concerned with  the number of people that didn't wash their hands before this pandemic.

A social media construct that I just recently discovered has been tracking all my movements for 11 years.  They know when I log into my banking apps, what banks I use, my investing apps, my locations over time, every website I have ever visited, as well as every single post I have ever made.  Methinks I shall join you in being FB-free.  That's quite an overreach, in my book.

So flipping channels last night and Cuomo in his basement was on.. can't remember which guy he was talking to, maybe it was this one, but he starts talking about how his wife bathes in bleach as a way of curing herself or something. Then I remembered how he said she was feeding him 'herbal' cocktails to try and cure him...  Man there are some whack-a-doos. Wonder she didn't kill him.
