Damn.  January 2021 for us.  Kinda bummed since we are planning a long trip to the DR from Christmas through most of January.  Ugh.

Would suck to get down there, and have to cut our time short for this. LOL

I think the estimates are very rough at best.  At this time we don't even know exactly when USCIS is going to open, and how quickly they will deal with the backlog.  I would just plan for the trip and adjust if required.  I had to do this for my AOS, we had to return early to attend the interview.

Can they do background check without fingerprint/ biometrics?

I am told they can. In my case for example, I did ROC last year and visited for fingerprint in June 2019 and they might be good for this round as well. It's a wild guess if that actually happens but apparently it's a possibility .

I have a friend who had the interview in early January, so she spent the winters holiday abroad, came back for the interview and then back abroad. She was scheduled to have the oath at the end of January, but didn't want to come back again right away, so she rescheduled. Then the lockdown happened and now the oath got postponed to who knows when. So yeah they allow rescheduling, and I think as long as you have a valid green card and passport you should be allowed to come and go, barring other restrictions due to the pandemic.

No way I'd be able to afford flights back to back like that.  :)

Various responses in the forum suggest that things are progressing during the shut downs.  I did hear on the radio that for the SSA productivity had gone up during the shutdown.  Hopefully USCIS is similar.

Where can you get this finishing time estimate? 🤔🤔

It shows at the top in the "Home" area of your uscis account once you log in.
