I don't have a SSN and I'm not authorized to use my husbands credit card. I've never worked in the US before and I also never owned a credit card or similar things my whole life. Barely finished university before coming here on my K1 visa two weeks ago and married my husband a few days later.

Do you think it's enough to attach a screenshot to my I-944 that shows that I need a SSN for proving that I don't have a credit score? And maybe add an explanation stating that I can't get the score?

This whole I-944 is very stressful for me cause I'm technically still a student and never had a job before, because I haven't received my degree yet. My first legit job is gonna be in the US, I really hope that's not gonna be a negative factor for USCIS.

Just call trans union and explain to them that you do not have SSN and that you need a letter from them stating you do not have a credit score/report. They will take your details and send you a letter. I did this and got a letter 3 days after i made the call.

You got a RFE or the package rejected? And since Feb 22 was a Saturday, it's hard to say if it actually counted or not.

i agree- i also think you need to be pragmatic- what are you hoping to acheive from fighting this issue...

I personally believe you are better off spending your energy on submitting the form 944 as it was requested.

I received the RFE; I understand what you are saying but the release notice says this:

" USCIS will now apply the Final Rule to all applications and petitions postmarked (or submitted electronically) on or after Feb. 24, 2020. For applications and petitions that are sent by commercial courier (e.g., UPS/FedEx/DHL), the postmark date is the date reflected on the courier receipt. "

- Feb 22 2020 - Mailed Application (I-130, I-845....) to Chicago

- April 22 2020 - NOA 1

- June 1 2020 - RFE for I-944

- June 24 2020 - Replied to RFE

- Oct 25 2020 - Fingerprint done

- Nov 9 2020 - Case ready to be scheduled for interview

That doesn't make to me because gathering the papers will require me significant energy. Unless I am losing my English comprehension, the release note is clear:

My receipt says the 22th.

Sorry if I am hijacking this conversation :(

It's the first time I've seen someone receiving a RFE for the I-944. Everyone else had the package rejected.

If the RFE specifically asks for that, just send what they ask. Trying to fight USCIS might delay even more your application.

Followed this advice and called Transunion. Pressed zero to speak to an agent. They asked a few questions and confirmed that I had no credit. They said they’d mail me a letter in a few days. I will update if I receive it.

Just to update, I received a letter from TransUnion within one week stating that they could not locate my credit record. Just what I needed.

Wow. What a stupid hurdle. Currently filling out the I-944 now and feeling very confused with all this stuff. Why? Just why? I hope the biden administration does away with this. It seems so unnecessary

Listen everyone who doesn't have SSN number to establish a credit report.

Go to website CreditOne Bank and apply for a credit card(Rebuild Credit). Fill out the form correctly and a section asks for SSN, type there your ITIN number or 111-11-1111. You will get NO CREDIT REPORT FOUND right away. Your name and address will show on next page. Print that section and apply to USCIS. You're welcome!

Enter "111-11-1111"? This is just submitting a query with a fake SSN.   Of course, it will respond with "No Credit Report Found".......This is not valid, imo.
