Have u tried calling the bureaus? Is the beneficary and authorized user on any credit card?

I tried to call TransUnion and Equifax. Both told me to mail a copy of my ID and a letter explaining what I needed, and that they would've MAYBE been able to mail something back. I mailed my documents April 13th, no answer yet. I'm not an authorized user on any credit card.

I've been reading how everyone got their documents within 10 business days and I'm a little concerned I still didn't get them after over 3 weeks! I'm trying to call Equifax, I've been on hold for almost an hour 😂

We were surprised to receive Experian letter so quickly. Last week I called them asking to confirm/deny the existence of credit report of my French husband. He does not have a SSN, only ITIN. He has been an authorized user on my Amazon visa card for a year or so. The Experian letter confirmed that my husband has a credit history, that his account is in good standing and that the first credit line opened 7 years ago (I guess they took that info from my credit history as I opened that Amazon card about that time).

The letter does NOT contain husband's credit score though.

Did you directly contact TransUnion? Did you pay to get the score?

I called them directly. I paid $8.99 for one. It was either the score of report

We also tried to apply for a credit card for my husband who has ITIN but not SSN. Bank of America accepts applications from people without SSN. We applied over the phone last week. Today we received their decision in the mail...it’s a rejection letter. Well, it didn’t upset us really, in fact, we were pleasantly surprised by the last page called Credit Score Disclosure. It informs my husband that “Your credit score, a FICO score, used by us in taking the above action is 706, which was created on May 1, 2020 and provided by a credit reporting agency, Experian”.

Bingo! We got his credit score number for free😀

I don't have a SSN and I'm not authorized to use my husbands credit card. I've never worked in the US before and I also never owned a credit card or similar things my whole life. Barely finished university before coming here on my K1 visa two weeks ago and married my husband a few days later.

Do you think it's enough to attach a screenshot to my I-944 that shows that I need a SSN for proving that I don't have a credit score? And maybe add an explanation stating that I can't get the score?

This whole I-944 is very stressful for me cause I'm technically still a student and never had a job before, because I haven't received my degree yet. My first legit job is gonna be in the US, I really hope that's not gonna be a negative factor for USCIS.

Just a related question: do you guys think it's worthy disputing an RFE for I-944 when you have actually sent your application before Feb 25th? I want to dispute mine as I have proof that application was post-marked on the 22, but they signed for it on Feb 25 in Chicago. The law is law, but I don't want to grumpy officer to hold my case pending for years for no reason...

Thought?

- Feb 22 2020 - Mailed Application (I-130, I-845....) to Chicago

- April 22 2020 - NOA 1

- June 1 2020 - RFE for I-944

- June 24 2020 - Replied to RFE

- Oct 25 2020 - Fingerprint done

- Nov 9 2020 - Case ready to be scheduled for interview

You got a RFE or the package rejected? And since Feb 22 was a Saturday, it's hard to say if it actually counted or not.

Nobody knows yet, but the instructions says you need to get a letter and people have successfully got one from credit bureaus.
