Embassy Review : I was approved today!!!!!

I got to the embassy by around 6:15am, we waited till around 7am till the security checks were done, , after everything I was called to window 17 and a chubby white guy interviewed me, I was asked just five questions

CO: how did you guys meet
Me: answered

CO: when did you propose
Me: I answered

CO: sorry i didn't understand what you explained on how you guys met, you talk so fast, please calm down a little,

Me: I started explaining from beginning.

CO: so who introduced you guys to each other, your uncle or hers

Me: mine

CO: what does she do

Me: answered

CO: I'm approving you and your visa will be issued within a week

Me: thank you so much sir, I'm grateful

CO: all the best in your marriage

@nairus thank you so much, I'm so sure your approval is imminent. Trust me i'll definitely share my interview experience once i get to that stage. My case just got to Lagos embassy. For the ban I'm hopeful it'll be lifted soon, I also feel the ban might not affect k1 applicants, whatever the case is, we'll see. I wish us the best.

Treasure1 on 2020-03-19 said:
@Lissweetaspie, yeah i scheduled an interview for mid next month but the US embassy in Nigeria cancelled all visa interview appointments yesterday because of the covid 19 virus, I hope you're having a smooth journey as well
Sparkle Sparkle on 2020-03-26 said:
Cant wait to hear your visa was approved ...my cousin and her boyfriend are having such a bad time ...because they see no future....she cant travel to see him because of covid...they definitely cant marry at this time plus they are facing the nigerian ban....that was why I was asking on the Nigerian forum...She relies on my and my experience for support and I am running out of what to tell her to keep faith

Thank you so much Doyin, my interview is for May 12, the embassy didn't really follow things sequentially, folks whose cases were at the embassy were scheduled first before dates were released for those of us with cancelled interview appointments to reschedule, all the same I'm glad everything is taking shape again, I can't wait to see you schedule a appointment too, all the best to you

*Notice about estimates: The estimates are based off averages of other members recent experiences
(documented in their timelines) for the same benefit/petition/application at the same filing location.
Individual results may vary as every case is not always 'average'. Past performance does not necessarily
predict future results. The 'as early as date' may change over time based on current reported processing
times from members. There have historically been cases where a benefit/petition/application processing
briefly slows down or stops and this can not be predicted. Use these dates as reference only and do not
rely on them for planning. As always you should check the USCIS processing times to see if your application
is past due.
