both the coupon and the chips and guac are free.

Well, then, it's a double deal -- a free coupon, and free chips/guac.  I would consider this, depending on the retail price of chips/guac; if the latter were less expensive than the former, I'd skip the cosmetic and simply head straight to the restaurant for the chips/guac.

Bargain beauty recommendation! I'd been reading reviews recently about e.l.f.'s new CC cream, and how great it is -- excellent coverage, moisturizing, 30 SPF, etc. But I am in love with the NARS tinted moisturizer at the moment, and keeping my coverage lighter and more natural, and I already have a great full coverage foundation (Dior Forever Undercover), so I was giving it a pass.

However... for the first time in quite a while I was actually physically in a Target, and this particular one has a massive health and beauty section. Hm, hard to resist the CC cream when it's there and only $14, so I bought it, thinking eh, at least it's cheap.

Wow! I had already color matched myself to a shade and written it in my notes app, so I knew what to select. It is a near perfect match -- I am a light/medium with warm peachy undertones, and the 240W was very close (a slight touch darker). The coverage is near full, and I needed very little. I applied with a beauty blender sponge and it just melted in. It looks very natural and not flat.

Seriously recommended. https://www.elfcosmetics.com/camo-cc-cream/300176.html

Sephora Beauty Insiders (I'm thinking in particular of @NikLR) -- it's Insider sale time again! Right now Rouge gets 20% off, VIB will get 15% off starting 4/13 and Insiders 10% off starting 4/15. The promotion lasts through 4/19. I'm filling up my cart. Right now I have (subject to change):

I'll probably add a palette and a lip color or two because... I have no self control.

Oh no, more temptation! 😂

Here is a BB cream that I recently tried and can wholeheartedly recommend. It has great SPF / broad spectrum coverage, is affordable, doesn't cause my skin to break out, and has excellent reviews on Amazon: Missha M Perfect Cover No.23 SPF 42/PA+++ BB Cream

Checking it out now -- thank you! I think I'm somewhere between #21 and #23 in skin tone but will do some investigation for color matching.

Aging lady of my acquaintance wants to use cold cream to fight bags under her eyes.

I don't know (or care) jack about cold cream, but she's a damsel in some distress.

Is there a good one for that purpose that doesn't cost arms & legs?

What do you think about he Murad cleanser? I have combo skin that veers towards the oily, so I need moisture but not anything too intense. For mornings, I use a Clinique 7 Day Scrub cream, which is a very mild exfoliator. Night I feel like I need a better cleanser before getting into that routine -- I've been using a strawberry cleanser from Fresh but I'm kind of... meh about it. It smells gorgeous but that's kind of about it.

I use Lakme cleanser and body cream - Glow Recipe Watermelon Glow Pink Dream Body Cream

Cold cream? No! She needs an eye cream. And yes, there is a difference between eye cream and moisturizer. They are for the much more delicate skin around the eyes. And a little goes a very, very long way so don't worry that the jar is small.

There are some good ones at the under $20 mark.

LOL, that post was such a long time ago, I forgot I made it! :D I found two which work great for me, and I alternate between them:

Gracias, LL ma'am, but remember that you're talking to a guy here, who's dim about this stuff.  So what you're saying that any of those eye creams will actually and specifically help with bags under the eyes?  Are you ranking those products in actual or approximate order of best-better-good-pretty good?  I don't want this lady to ask me stuff that I can't answer.

Ugh, I just deleted my entire reply!

The RoC is a good all rounder for puffiness and dark circles. It also has a little more cachet than Garnier or CeraVe, which are both excellent. The Ordinary is a bit of a cult item, supposedly excellent but not as nourishing for older skin as the others.

Edit: my phone keeps eating parts of my post. I'll come back to write more after my shower. I have more recommendations!

I took a nap after it. I literally just came back on here when you posted this!

What was disappeared from my earlier post is that TBone might also get his friend a rose quartz roller. These are not just a gimmick, which I was convinced they were. They can help with puffiness under the eyes, as well as promoting good circulation in the face, tightening pores and firming skin. They can get quite expensive, but I have seen them at Target at the $10-15 mark. You can probably find them a bit cheaper, but you get what you pay for -- cheaper ones can fall apart. I think mine was about $30; I didn't see the need for a $100 one!

You use the roller after applying creams/gels/serums to work the product into the epidermis, and the cooling effect of the quartz helps with swelling and puffiness in the face. It's a very relaxing process too, and makes getting ready for the day or for bed feel more like self-care. I keep mine in the fridge for extra cooling.

A video on this and GuaSha, which are stones that are used for contouring the face as well.

Why should I buy anything for anyone, huh ma'am?

This reminds me of when Mrs. T-B. made her first trip back to Ecuador.

I was to follow her to Ecu in a few weeks.

A few days before I left, she called, in her "I want something" plaintive tone.

"Can you go to Sally Beauty Supply and buy me... a ponytail? [in hurt voice] Mine got damaged."

I resisted but, of course, had to give in.  I mechanically transcribed the specifications.

I entered S.B.S. and stood in the entrance, bewildered by the alien experience.

A salesgirl asked, "May I help you?"

I responded uncertainly, "Uh, can you direct me to, uh... the Ponytail Department?"

She led me to a pegboard on the wall, where I matched Mrs. T-B.'s codes and found the product.

Paying for it was a blur.  I managed to hand-deliver the ponytail undamaged.

For some time after that, I felt the need to do macho stuff, like bust bucking broncos, or welding.

So I have been mocked for purchasing this: https://soldejaneiro.com/products/rio-deo-aluminum-free-deodorant

Apparently some people have never heard of deodorant that expensive being worth it and some  people are happy with their Old Spice Swagger. Good for those people. It smells amazing and no regrets!
