I had laser hair removal done because I always had ingrown hairs and razor burn. I only have to shave every so often now. Still need a few more sessions before the hair is all the way gone for good.

I've thought about it, but never pulled the trigger. How many sessions does it usually take for it to go away?

Everyone is different. I have dark and thick leg hair and I think I’ve done 4 sessions so far and still have hair. I’ll probably need another 4 more. It’s great though! Highly recommend. I want my underarms done next.

Actually I'd like that more than legs -- my leg hair is lightish in color and texture, but underarms? Let's just say that if I let it grow I could probably pass for a 1970s girl in about 10 days.  Hormones are weird. My mom told me that as I get older I'll start losing hair there but I've got a ways to go yet. Lasering might be a way to get there without waiting until... the change (said in an ominous tone).

Anybody tried one of these.

Nope.  But that looks interesting -- I googled it and it does a whole bunch of things. If Alex had a beard (no!) I might get that for him.

I did giggle a little at the pic of the guy shaving his chest hair off with it. Why? Chest hair is great on a man!  I would post the pic but it has nipples in it.

So I'm not sure if this is hijacking the thread but I'm getting desperate here and it's a fashion related question.

I'm very much want "classic" looking but dressy sandals such as these but all leather:

s-l640.jpg

I ordered this exact shoe on Amazon and despite the description saying "leather" the actual shoe was some creepy second rate "leather and synthetic" blend, ugh. :ranting: Does anyone know where I can get leather shoes in a similar style?? My entire life I've worn mostly vintage and second hand shoes and my husband is weirded out by that (and I mean, he has a point, second hand shoes can have issues plus when you buy it online, there's no option to return if it doesn't fit) so I'm trying to buy something new and it's just so hard to find this style! This style is obviously not popular anymore so I can't seem to find them. :( Does anyone know of any brands? Thanks so much!

Seconding Clarks! High quality and extremely comfortable. You will have them for years.

Is there a name for that particular style of sandal? If you know it, I might be able to help further.

I was wondering that too. I usually shop by description as a vintage clothing maven, so I type in stuff like "t strap mary jane" or "buckle sandal" but that method has not been very helpful so far when it comes to new shoes. I also like how that style comes to more of a point, and it appears most shoes these days are more round/square toe. My only other "hints" include "closed toe sandal" or "open shaft oxfords"...lol my mom and I used to sell vintage shoes on ebay for years so I know all the keywords! It seems new shoes sell more by the brand name rather than the style, so searching feels more limited somehow I've also tried "fisherman sandal" but that has yielded mixed results.

It’s a unique cross style.  I agree Mary Jane /closed toe sandal / t strap

When I put in "fisherman sandal t strap" I come up with the exact pair of Trotters sandals that weren't right, of course.

Not exactly the same, but along a similar line: https://www.rockport.com/cobb-hill/cobb-hill-ireland-fisherman-sandal/CBR10.html?dwvar_chinglewoodireland_color=chinglewoodireland_khaki2#:~:text=Previous

Both are leather and from Rockport, which is a solid brand. I think the style you are looking for is called "huarache" from what I can tell. The closed toe makes it more difficult to find -- I found plenty of open toe t-strap all leather huaraches out there.

The Zoom Botox boom: why younger women are getting tweaked

After six months of staring at our faces over Zoom, Britain's women are seeking cosmetic help – and Rebecca Reid is one of them

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/women/life/zoom-botox-boom-younger-women-getting-tweaked/

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

I got a sample of this and I love it. I'm not really a gloss person, but this leaves my lips so soft and plump. The color is fairly sheer and you will need to reapply, but it's fantastic if you want a very subtle lip. Since no one sees me without a mask these days in real life except the person I live with, having a little pop without too much BAM! color is nice for at home or for on a Zoom.
