Hi guys - I’m trying to figure out if my expired GC (expires in aug 19) and 18 month extension letter are sufficient for my domestic flight from Boston to Durham? 
 

My passport was recently collected by the home country Consulate during renewal appointment, and I cannot have that with me for the flight.

Hi, my driver license expired two yrs ago since I quit driving.  All I have right now are the expired GC and extension letter.  I called TSA and they said I may need to bring extra proofs (i.e utility bills with my name on it).

Highly recommend having a state ID so you can always carry a valid photo identification on you at all times.

Note to self ... Never allow both home country and US ID documents to be expired at the same time. Inevitable you need one to get the other. Hopefully you will be able to use the expired state drivers licence to get a current ID

Just as a general rule in life you need to have valid unexpired identification. Agree with everyone, get a state ID 

Cateogory: CR1

  • NOA1/Notice of receipt: Sept. 15, 2015
  • NOA2/I130 Approved: February 8, 2016 (NO RFE) :)
  • Process slowed down by us
  • Sent documents to NVC: April 11, 2016
  • Scan date: April 14/ May 7th (NVC said both I dont know why)
  • Case Complete: May 31, 2016 (No checklist) :dancing:

August 17, 2016: Visa Approved!!!! :dancing:

Get a state ID especially if they issue "Real ID" it makes your life so much easier now and in for future travel. (Still need you exp greencard and extension letter in case you run into a immigration check).
