hope to see if there are more people getting AP after verbally confirmed at the AIT in Taipei, Taiwan that the Visa will be issued in a week...

My K-1 visa interview took place 11/18/2019 and after 5 business days, status updated to "administrative processing"

However, no instructions were given at the interview that any additional documents are needed, they basically said confirmed and will issue in a week.

Is this just a routine check because of high volume of applicants? I'm praying that I can receive it by the end of this week, but all i've ready elsewhere is AP varies and never is it less than 1 month...

Anyone else?

I have never heard of AP being a minimum of a month, but it is routine for everyone to move to AP even if it is only to print up the visa and attach it to the passport.  Overall, AP time can vary greatly, but from what I hear most of them are relatively short.

Good Luck!

Hey @Swang1210! Did you get any news? same thing happened to me. Had the interview the same day, we were told it would only take 5 to 7 days, it has changed from received application to administrative processing to application received again. We called and they haven't been able to give us more information. They told us we have to email them.

@SaraSA No..not yet. There was another girl too who I exchanged contact with, who also got the verbal confirmation and now in AP...
I've also heard back from another couple who was interviewed a week earlier now stuck in the same situation :(

I don't really know what to think of this situation now. Let's just hope that they're busy. I Emailed last week not haven't received a response yet.

Are you the one flying out to Seattle? :)

Everyone goes through AP. AP is the embassy processing your visa. This is a normal process and NO ONE can with any certainty can say how long that will be. Comparing to others is not prudent and only send your anxiety higher. Just my experience.

There is NO set timetable for any procedure even when the embassy tells you 5-7 days. You just need more patience and it will be issued.
