Best Time of year to submit K-1 Visa?

Don’t look at processing times. They fluctuate all the time. Some cases are processed faster than others but it has nothing to do with the time of year.

The best time to file a K-1 is when you are both confident that you are ready to commit to one another for life and marriage is the next natural step in your lives. Focus on the relationship and marriage first and let immigration be a side-show. Focusing on the immigration side of things first sounds a little suspicious.

Timeline in brief:

Married: September 27, 2014

I-130 filed: February 5, 2016

NOA1: February 8, 2016 Nebraska

NOA2: July 21, 2016

Interview: December 6, 2016 London

POE: December 19, 2016 Las Vegas

N-400 filed: September 30, 2019

Interview: March 22, 2021 Seattle

Oath: March 22, 2021 COVID-style same-day oath

Now a US citizen!

To echo literally everyone else: if your set to go, submit ASAP.  There’s a lot more involved than just the USCIS approval stage, so get in line now, as times vary beyond the NVC processing.

The sooner you file the sooner the suffering begins....and....ends)))))

Not a newbie but lost my old info years ago) I have been through this process before --all the way through naturalization-- This site has always been a great help to me.

I heard that certain times of year the US embassy is much slower in processing K1 fiance visa applications than other times of year. For example, I heard they really take their time if you submit your application during the Summer months. So what times of year are the best if I want my k1 visa application processed the fastest? Would now (November-December) be the best time or should I wait until January?

Uh, Is it Miller time ???

Completed: K1/K2 (271 days) - AOS/EAD/AP (134 days) - ROC (279 days)
