Really? We have very similar time lines /same Embassy. I would be so thrilled if he got his visa that soon! I love your optimism!

I'm going based on the statistics on here. No reason not to stay positive. It seems to be fairly quick compared to other years.

27 NOV 2019 - I-129F mailed to Dallas, TX Lockbox

02 DEC 2019 - NOA1

23 MAR 2020 - NOA2

My friends AND family ask about my application status every 2-3 days and it's making it really difficult to forget about it and wait patiently. Is anyone else experiencing this?

Constantly! "Any news?" "How long til you move?" etc etc. Seems like I get asked that by someone different every day. On top of that, my boss (who knows I'm engaged but I haven't told the details to) keeps asking if we've set a date yet. All I can muster is a vague "Summer-ish?"

My boss does. We're a small team and they just let some people go because they were bad. It's really hard to find good people, even in retail, and they're going to have some serious problems the moment I quit. They did tell me that I didn't have to give the usual 3 months notice, so that helps.

I don't get asked as frequently but I would say someone from work asks about it atleast once a week. I just keep telling them it's a waiting game at this point! I can't tell you how many times I've explained this process to people. I always hear "Well why doesn't he just move here now so you can get married?" 😒 I keep telling myself that worrying or stressing isn't doing any good at all. It won't make the process go any faster!

Hmm, my family knows we are waiting on the approvals etc. They have not asked me again. Also,  my closest friends have also been through USCIS processes(!) so they have not asked twice! I told them we filed and are currently waiting. Some other people at work know we are engaged and are constantly asking when the wedding would be and I give them a "roughly May-June, depending on the visa timeline" as an estimate. I think that is the most annoying thing, but I try not to let that make me think too much about it. I think of the process regardless of whether someone asks me or not. But I make a conscious choice to see the positive side of it: being with my fiance soon enough! If you don't make that choice, you might find yourself feeling down. Do not allow that!

This might be helpful to you: Tell them! If you think they are asking too often, tell them you would update them when you hear the good news! 🙂 I would definitely do that! Protect your own mental sanity!!

Eventually they will stop asking.  Just be patient

I have told my family many times that when I hear back about our petition I will let them know. I had to go to the post office to pick up a letter the other day and my parents were certain that it was a letter from the embassy. I explained to them that The next piece of mail we are expecting will be sent to the petitioner, NOT to me. Even after I explained that to them, they still believed that the letter was from the embassy. They were disappointed to find out it was a letter from the insurance company telling me it was time to pay for my license. I dont expect them to understand and remember every single part of the process but it would be nice if they just listened to me in the moment.

It's so hard to set a date when visas are so unpredictable. It also sucks that its difficult to make other people understand that.

Still we rise, here and now

People will just ask over and over and over... That is the question I "struggle" with the most since more people know I am engaged than the people who know about the immigration process. 😄

I also don't really blame people for asking. It's a huge change for them too. Even setting aside the wait until AP for visiting them again, we're moving to another continent. While they're not losing all contact with us, we're sort of disappearing from their daily life in some way.

@greenbaum is there a P3 for Manila, Philippines? Thanks!

The best guide to use is Hanks website. He has created step by step everything you will need, every step you must take to receive your visa. Link is below.

Embassy letter for a non-immigrant K=1

Hank's website

Additional information can be found here:

http://www.ustraveldocs.com/ph/index.html?firstTime=No

Also, there is a sub-forum for the Philippines here on VJ that you should be a part of. It's a good place to read what others are experiencing which will only prepare you for your interview.

http://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/129-philippines/

Manila US Embassy states that a scanned copy of the signed I-134 is fine, if you don't have the original.

It's nice to have someone to talk to about what you are experiencing. The thread is here to help you to circumvent your visa through the maze of getting your visa. When you start a conversation that is "off-topic," it's fine for a couple of reply's to each other but when it begins to consume the thread, it's best to take it offline. There is a great way of doing that and that is using the personal messaging that is available here on VJ. One of you initiates the PM by choosing the others nick in their profile on the left page. This will take you to their PM page. At the top of the page, you will see an icon of a "envelope." Choose it and the PM will open ready for you to respond. You can invite others to join you by using the "invite" icon. Thanks for your understanding.

Hello all. New here. Received USCIS receipt November 5th. Still waiting and thought I’d wait along with my few November pals. I also want to thank User greenbaum (and others I’m sure) for his continuous efforts in helping us all. I believe I filled everything out on my timeline but if I miss something don’t hestitate to ask/tell me!
