And this is relevant why?  It is clear the Dems have left the True Liberals behind and gone far Left.  I guess no one has learned the lessons regarding Socialism/Communism.

So only 25% of folks believe the earth is the center of the solar system, but 50% think the Dems have moved to the ultra Left side of the political aisle.  Not really an apples and oranges comparison.  Of course, you are right, reality plays a role, and the fact that “the Squad” is given so much legitimacy is really telling from a reality standpoint.

I think the Tea Party faction of the Republican party has taken this country on a far more radical path than any left lean to the Democratic party .  Four freshman congresswomen without a committee chair to their name are not driving the Democratic party, although I do agree society as a whole is increasingly young, secular, urban and not white. That is basic demographics.

The tea party?  Sure, who wants lower taxes and lower deficits?  Regardless, that political faction is all but dead now considering the runaway spending by both sides.  As to the increasingly left movement of the Dems, now we are seeing a movement toward fascism with their constitutional attacks.

Which is why, for the life of me, I cannot understand why our presidential candidates are failing to heed the lessons from Democrats’ 2018 and 2019 victories.

The Democratic candidates who have prevailed in battleground contests since 2016 didn’t embrace pie-in-the-sky policy ideas or propose a smorgasbord of new entitlements. They didn’t talk constantly about providing a guaranteed basic income. Or promising to make college free. Or eliminating private insurance and replacing it with a government-run health care system. Or giving $250 more each month in Social Security benefits. Or enacting the Green New Deal. Or calling for the immediate and abrupt end of fossil fuels. Or vowing to seize guns from people’s homes.
