Denied due to Public Charge Ineligibility

Hello All,

 

I am new here. Heard great things about this site. I am so confused and lost. I recently went for an interview and was denied . I received this letter here is there any evidence or anything I can do to submit for review? I am 32 years of age with 2 children and my Mother petitioned for me . My cousin sponsored us. I believe it has something to do with me never holding a job. I do have plans to go to school if granted admittance. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It sounds like it's likely a combination of the financial capability of the primary sponsor combined with your own personal circumstances (multiple children to care for, never worked, etc.). A joint sponsor apparently seemed unlikely to actually provide support.

How do you make ends meet now, and for the past years of adulthood?

It may have had more to do with your mother needing a cosponsor to petition for you.

Who would pay for your schooling and maintenance for you and your children while you were at school?

No, the letter says it will not be remedied by a joint sponsor.  They are clearly worried about long term self maintenance.

Thanks. Yeah, that would be a challenge with the increased costs in the US, adjusting, and the fact that they have the choice to stop doing so at any time. That's really tough, sorry.

You have to look at it from the CO's perspective:

 

Your mother is unable to financially support you.

Your plans upon entering is to attend school, rather than to work.

You have two children (who will financially support them?)

My cousin that sign affadavit would help out and has set up for me to get parttime job at local stores near the house

Part time job is hard with yourself and two kids to support...plus pay for school.

Maybe your mothers financial situation will change in the future and can petition you then?
