The USCIS Field Office for people residing in Austin is San Antonio and not Houston. Perhaps that's why she's got ger interview date pretty fast. I noticed San Antonio Field Office has been on top of their game lately.

That's not what uscis website says

Austin field office is houston 🤔

I guess you're right, because the letter she received after her interview says san antonio, 😒😒😒

Then the website was misleading or something happened to that case, anyway.. I guess wait 1 year or more then 😞😑

The Austin you saw on the website under Houston Field Office is a county. That's not the popular Austin metroplex. The website uses Zip Code and Counties to search for nearest Field Office and not metroplexes or cities. Perhaps that's what caused the confusion.

Well lets be positive. It could be possible to get adjudicated within less than a year. God is in control.

I am thinking it could be because of the thing where they send cases from overloaded offices to offices that are not quite as backlogged

RoC sent 10/30/21

NOA 11/16/21

Check Cashed 11/18/21

Biometrics Waived 01/19/2022

Yes that's  probably exactly what they are doing, let's hope so anyway!

Hey y'all,

I am not in the US yet but will move to the Houston area on 12/26 and wedding is scheduled for 1/2. I am following this thread to get a feeling of how long it might take to get EAD/AP and Green Card. We are already putting together the papers for AOS so we can mail it on the day when we get our marriage certificate.

Wishing everybody fast processing times!

ROC Timeline:

2023-02-20: Mailed package to Phoenix Lockbox with UPS Ground

2023-02-27: Package was delivered

2023-03-02: Received text that case was received with SRC case #

2023-03-03: Money order was cashed

2023-03-09: Received 48 months extension letter in mail

2023-05-20: Greencard expired

2024-01-03: Still waiting for update on biometrics

Wishing you a safe trip. Make sure you check the  AOS fee again before you file as they typically increase after the first of a new year.

I just got an email from USCIS today stating that action had been taken on our case so I logged onto my USCIS account and to my delight it now says "Interview Was Schedule" as of Oct. 28th!

Now we just need to wait for the official letter to come in the mail to see what the exact date of the interview is.

Our case is out of the Houston office. so the key thing here is that we are now seeing movement in Houston for January 2019 filers as that is when we submitted our AOS

I'll keep you all posted on developments.

It took us about 3.5 months from the date of submittal to get approval for the EAD/AP and about another week after that date to actually have the card in hand.

Hi Texas residents,

I noticed many filers from some States get scheduled pretty fast. Texas seem to be pretty slow. I also don't seem to see comments from Texas filers, especially those who filed this year. So I decided to create this thread so we can all talk about our experiences, frustrations and successes.

Here are a few stats for Texas filers. There are five (5) field offices in Texas (El Paso, Harlingen, San Antonio, Dallas and Houston). I arranged them in the order of processing time with El Paso having the fastest processing time and Houston having the least. Currently there are 17,256 pending cases with Houston and they only process an average of 1730 cases per month and they receive 1130 cases per month (do the math).

I and my hubby are with Dallas Field Office which is almost as slow as Houston.

The wait continues.

Thanks for starting this thread, I was just wondering if there was one already considering the Texas population 😎

Just received the official letter from USCIS with our scheduled interview date.

So to give everyone a gauge on timing:

Status changed to "Interview Was Scheduled" on 10/28/19.

Received official letter from USCIS with Interview date on 11/4/19.

Interview date will be on 12/2/19.

So based on our timeline it appears that interviews are scheduled about a month give or take a few days after your status changes to "Interview Was Scheduled".

that would be a remarkably fast turnaround time if true.
