The Nebraska Service center is Hiring, a  SUPERVISORY IMMIGRATION SERVICES OFFICER !?

Maybe they if they hire someone without their head up their ........  They can improve the times.....doubt it.

That salary though.....$88,704 to $115,313 per year

The heck is a US national? How is that different from a citizen?

Residents of American Samoa and Swain Island in the Pacific have status as US nationals not US citizens. They must naturalize in order to be USC. They cannot vite in elections or hold public offuce

and I live about 70 miles away. but I am not a current or former employee.  Just a veteran.

Oh gotcha, that makes sense now. But wouldn't anyone who naturalizes be a "US national"? It's just a bit confusing, that terminology.

"US national" has a distinct meaning in USCIS terms.  No , a naturalised pperson isnt referred to as a US National, they are a USC ..

Not uncommon...turnaround is probably fairly high in that kind of area.

I'm not so sure that kind of position has much to do with processing timelines. Real changes require changes at the upper management level and/or legislative changes. A supervisor is quite low on the totem poll.

No (Edit: well, little) comment on the salary...idk typical incomes in that region. It sounds good, but honestly isn't anything crazy if it's a high COL area.

I read the posting. They have 3 locations and 1100 employees, yet they can only process 12,000 I-130's last quarter.  (I know not everyone is an adjudicator, maybe they have too many chiefs)

Other than my span in the Military, I've been here in Nebraska, all my life, well I did move across the boarder to Iowa...(better vehicle taxes.)  and yes the Yokels wearing the Husker shirts are annoying.  but if you stand back and laugh at how stupid they can be especially in a group.  The Company that I work at has quite the meting pot of people, and I would say that 95% were born outside the US.  A number of them got here with the Visa lotteries.  Most are good people, a few i don't care for and that is just that the come off as arrogant asses.  You have good and bad wherever you are from.
