No sign of further cancer. Routine blood tests and screening will continue. She's tough as nails that one. Remarkable lady.

That is not what I read:

"WASHINGTON—Supreme Court Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg on Friday completed a three-week course of radiation for a malignant tumor on her pancreas, which was “treated definitively, the Supreme Court said in a statement.

The court said that there was “no evidence of disease elsewhere in the body,” and that Justice Ginsburg, 86 years old, “tolerated treatment well.”

The justice began treatment on an outpatient basis Aug. 5, after the tumor was detected in July, the court said.

The episode is the latest health scare for Justice Ginsburg, the court’s oldest member and a leader of its liberal wing who was appointed by President Clinton in 1993.

and from another article:

"The tumor was treated definitively and there is no evidence of disease elsewhere in the body. Justice Ginsburg will continue to have periodic blood tests and scans.

Unfortunately, pancreatic cancer does not have a good survival rate......I lost a Grandmother to that terrible disease.

"While pancreatic cancer survival rates have been improving from decade to decade, the disease is still considered largely incurable. According to the American Cancer Society, for all stages of pancreatic cancer combined, the one-year relative survival rate is 20%, and the five-year rate is 7%."

Amusingly HuffPo is being sued for its fake news coverage related to Kavanaugh.

Malignant pancreatic cancer you very rarely come back from, not at 88. Plus her having been treated fro lung cancer makes me think it has metastasized.

How long did Obama have left in office when the senate refused to hold hearings on his nomination

I think it was less than a year.

Really sending out good thoughts into the universe for RBG -- a personal hero of mine and many of my friends. One of my close friends is a family lawyer and I bought her this copy of RBG's dissent collar: https://bananarepublic.gap.com/browse/product.do?pid=479718#pdp-page-content to go with this t-shirt (lol -- bought one for myself too):

I will have 2, but does strike me that it might be better to wait a while before you wear yours, is this not the Patriarchy that is supporting you currently?

I guess until my support payments end, technically that's correct. 😶 But I am perfectly happy to have a couple of contradictory thoughts here, especially since it was his money that bought it!😂

As long as you appreciate the irony.

Still hard to say without details. A tumor on the pancreas is not even necessarily pancreatic cancer (as opposed to a tumor in the pancreas). Could be from the lung cancer she was recently being treated for. The treatment she received is not standard for a pancreatic mass. On the the other hand a bile duct shunt would indicate that there may be more going on than they have released.

I don’t think it matters how long Obama had left. McConnell has already done the flip flop on the issue. If she steps down a couple of weeks before the election, they will try to rush someone in.
