Not looking good for Ginsberg. I only wish her the best and  fully support her right to stay on the court as long as possible.

 

However if she passes it is going to be ugly.

The justice began treatment on an outpatient basis Aug. 5, after the tumor was detected in July, the court said.

The episode is the latest health scare for Justice Ginsburg, the court’s oldest member and a leader of its liberal wing who was appointed by President Clinton in 1993.

Unfortunately, pancreatic cancer does not have a good survival rate......I lost a Grandmother to that terrible disease.

"While pancreatic cancer survival rates have been improving from decade to decade, the disease is still considered largely incurable. According to the American Cancer Society, for all stages of pancreatic cancer combined, the one-year relative survival rate is 20%, and the five-year rate is 7%."

   Most pancreatic cancer is discovered at a late stage, which is why the prognosis is so poor. It can be cured if caught early enough but rarely is it found this way. Hard to speculate really, without access to her medical records, which is highly unlikely.

I think it was less than a year.

    Still hard to say without details. A tumor on the pancreas is not even necessarily pancreatic cancer (as opposed to a tumor in the pancreas). Could be from the lung cancer she was recently being treated for. The treatment she received is not standard for a pancreatic mass. On the the other hand a bile duct shunt would indicate that there may be more going on than they have released. 

 

   I don’t think it matters how long Obama had left. McConnell has already done the flip flop on the issue. If she steps down a couple of weeks before the election, they will try to rush someone in.
