EAD Expedite in a K1 visa

Hi everyone,

Just wanna ask if someone from this group entered the US with a K1 visa and have successfully expedited their EAD combo card? I wanna know some stories because I know it is quite tricky since our petitioners have signed Affidavit of Support for us even from the very start...

I have expedited mine thru the congresswoman's office and got no update since Aug 2. The final update were the 2 generic updates in the case tracker (assigned to an officer, completed and sent a response) and with the email it said that: "We have received your request to expedite. Your case is under review. You will receive a decision or notice shortly.".. Getting anxious everyday. Huhu.

Thank you for sharing! Excited to read your stories. :)

Many have successfully expedited. Many have tried but were denied. Your specific circumstances (and documentation of them) are the main factors on which group you will fall into.

Its been 2 business days plus some of today since your last update. Hopefully you hear back soon.

I was able to get an expedited EAD for my wife. Took a little over 60,000 dollars in medical bills for emergency surgery, but they expidited it. Still took about a month for the whole process of expidite, with them processing and me faxing everything over to them. After I submitted my evidence, it only took a few days for approval.

Here on a K1? Need married and a Certificate in hand within a few hours? I'm here to help. Come to Vegas and I'll marry you Vegas style!!   Visa Journey members are always FREE for my services. I know the costs involved in this whole game of immigration, and if I can save you some money I will!

Oh I'm sorry to hear about the emergency surgery. I hope all is well with the both of you especially with whoever got the surgery.

I am praying to have a positive response from them too. It is really hard to live here in the US especially depending on a single income on top of the monthly loans and obligations he has to pay.

Thank you for sharing your story! I really appreciate it. :)

This is not official VJ guidance, personally I think it should be, but everybody should as part of the process seek an Expedite. The process has become so long it is silly not to.

I have certainly seen cases where it was approved with not an obvious case so you simply do not know what will and will not, there is no downside and it does not take that long to apply.

“If you know the enemy and know yourself, you need not fear the result of a hundred battles. If you know yourself but not the enemy, for every victory gained you will also suffer a defeat. If you know neither the enemy nor yourself, you will succumb in every battle.”

What does it take to get one?

Apply with as good a basis as you can put together, most cases involved a job odder with financial difficulties, both are fairly easy to put together.

Keep your fingers crossed.

Yes, I agree. Let's just take all the chances that we got than doing nothing to get it going (because waiting times are so unbearable).

Thank you for your response!

We recently had our EAD expedite approved. We received a letter in the mail asking for evidence one week after out initial phone call. We faxed our evidence within 5 days and received an email 6 days later that the EAD/AP card would be delivered within 30 days. We have not received the card; we just got the email on Monday.

So 18 days from initial phone call to approval email. Waiting for the actual card.
