Update:

I reached out to a state senator for assistance on this immigration case. That was on September 21, 2021. The senator's office replied on September 22, 2021 that they will be reaching out to the NVC on my behalf. On October 12, 2021, both my parents are finally scheduled for an interview at the US embassy. Wish us luck on the medical and interview. All I want for Christmas is to celebrate it with both my parents.

Good luck to everyone.

Hi, how was your parents interview went? I still havent heard anything for my mom. I want to do what you did about reaching out to my state senator. I just dont know how to start and how to do it.

It's a pretty straightforward one, and quite brief. This is assuming the paperwork is in order. Make sure your mom has your birth certificate. Some people don't need it, others do. At the end of the day, it is the main document verifying your child-parent relationship with your mom. I would suggest reaching out to the consulate; although keep in mind that Manila most likely has more applicants than Kyiv.

They had to undergo a sputum test. That was a four-month delay. Now, currently trying to get them rescheduled. Their medical is expiring in March.

Anyway, look at your state senator's website. Check to see if they assist in immigration cases. They will need you to sign a form so they can be your representative and ask on your behalf.

Does any one know how long it take if you put in AP? My dad had his interview on Jan 24, 2022. the interview officer told him that every thing was good but he had to answer some questions which they asked him through email. So my dad replied to their email and answer everything on the next day. the visa officer kept his passport too. Since now we are waiting for his visa. He is in AP process. I dont know how long it will take more to issue visa? Can any of please tell me? His category is IR 5 immigrant visa.
thanks.

Finally, after 3 years I got an email that they are ready to schedule medical and visa interview. That’s a long time! How are all your parents? Are they in US already?
