I petitioned my father in Sept 2019 (pre-covid). Went through all the hoops and finally was documentarily qualified on 1/20/2022. His case is still at NVC. I have sent a few emails to NVC and was told that they are waiting for an interview date and nothing is available. Also sent a few emails to the US Consulate in Manila and was told NVC has the documents and they cannot do anything. Is this a normal timeline? I have read the Visa Updates on their website in June 2022 that they have processed most IR cases that were documentarily qualified in March 2021. I don’t think we qualify to expedite the case unless they can accept old age and depression because of how long this is taking.

Hello All, I got My US Citizenship last week (Oct 13th, 2022) and planning to apply for Parent's Green Card. but in my case, the Parent's B2 Visa interview is scheduled for Jan 10th, 2023. my concern is if I apply for I-130 now will it impact my B2 visa application? should I apply after I-130 after the B2 Visa interview? TIA..!

Checked https://ceac.state.gov/CEACStatTracker/Status.aspx?App=IV for my parents' case status and it says "Refused" for both of them (see attached screenshots). What does "refuse" mean? I filed a petition for my parents with an IR-5 visa and their immigrant visa interview in Manila got cancelled April 6, 2020 due to COVID-19. Reached out to US Embassy Manila via live chat and I was told that refused means it says under administrative processing at this point, which does not make sense to me. Here's what the customer representative said when I asked about the "refused" status: "Please be advised that if your application requires further administrative processing, the US Embassy Manila will contact you as soon as administrative processing is completed. As each visa case is unique, we regret that we are unable to provide you with any guidance as to how long an administrative process will take. It is under review by the US Embassy. Your case will remain refused while undergoing such processing. The US Embassy will email the applicant once there is an update in their visa application." Last month they did not attend their visa interview because I was not able to get them an appointment for a medical exam (this must be completed prior to the interview). Does anyone have any recommendations on what I can do next for my parents? Their case does not seem to be going anywhere. Thank you so much in advance.

On 2022-06-02, I submitted all the documents required by the NVC so they can start the review process. Since then when I track status on the website it shows the following message : "Action required: Submit requested documents". Is this an Error or would they change it once they actually start reviewing the documents. Also Will they actually let us wait the 6 months before they start reviewing the case? Last question, how can we tell if a visa is available at the embassy for this category, I checked the Visa bulletin but couldn't find anything related to IR-5 Sorry for the numerous questions, just so frustrate, been waiting for a long time for the IR-5 with USCIS and now NVC.

Hello, everyone. I have submitted I-130 for my Mother and Father and they got approved last month. I am on the process of answering the I-864 form but I have few questions and concern. My income barely meets the 125% Poverty guidelines for household of 3. Hence, I am using my husband as a joint sponsor. From what I understand, I have to submit separate Affidavit of Support for each parent. My question is, can I use my husband as a joint sponsor for both of them? Also, on the part of the form seen on the attached image, I am confused as to what to answer. Do I include my father on my Mother’s I-1864 household size and vice versa? Any help and enlighten would be greatly appreciated!
