97 days here hopefully this week for us.

There is a little housekeeping that we need you to do so we can help when you have a question. Many of our answers are predicated on the information you supply in your profile. When we look at the left column and can't determine your timeline OR your Embassy it's hard for us to give you a factual answer. Our answers will sometimes be tailored to a specific Embassy hence the reason for you to complete your profile. If you look at the profile of others here, they have a flag for their country, so it makes it easy for us to reply as we can quickly determine their Embassy. The country that should be used is the country where the interview will take place.

So, if you could help yourself out and complete your profile that sure would help us out when we want to reply to your question with factual information.

Go to the top right of this page select your name (it's on the upper right-hand corner)>my profile>[below your picture on the right column] edit my profile. Scroll to the bottom and fill in "Immigration Info". There now we can better serve you.

Once you finish that then return and you will see a flag in your profile. Select it and see what wonderful information will open up for you.

Thanks

Gotta wait for the actual letter to see which rabbit hole to chase.  A waiver request has no template or form as everyone's facts and circumstances are unique

@payxibka I received the RFE and have attached it for your viewing and anyone you suggest. Back story...we were using an attorney to pursue this visa in 2018. I was laid off from a job in August 2018 about the time we we received NOA2. I was unemployed from August 2018 and accepted a contract position in January 2019 and ultimately offered a full time position in March 2019. I needed to move from Louisiana to Texas and was staying with family for the several months (March-July). I could not close on my home in Texas until July 2019, when my Louisiana home closes for sale. It was then, when we re-submitted for I-129F to start the process again. I am fairly certain our attorney did not formally cancel the visa request in 2018 and am certain I dropped the ball and did not formally cancel the previous visa. This is the same fiance from the previous filing.

if I need to fill in any gaps or questions you may need to suggest a path to properly adjudicate this item, I would be grateful. My mother can certainly write an affidavit as she moved into my home when my step-father passed away. I can also get a mutual friend in USA who is familiar with the layoff situation as he was instumental in me ultimately moving to Texas after being laid off for so long.

thanks for any feedback you may provide.

Please do not use all caps, as it makes it hard to read your message. Follow the instructions exactly as written in the RFE/221(g). Adding additional information may open a can of worms and a street you do not want to travel down.

Darn, I was hoping to see more later August filers getting approved by now.  Would like us early September filers to get a chance of some approvals before the end of the year wraps.  I can almost guarantee nothing will get done during the week of Christmas.  Which only leaves us with less than 3 weeks left.... 😱

Calling USCIS: You'll need your receipt number, DOB for both of you and full names. Beneficiary or the petitioner can call.

1 (800) 375-5283 8:00 am

Option 1:

Call USCIS. Do not press anything. Do not choose a language. If someone who picked up the phone cannot answer your question, ask them to transfer you to TIER 2.

Option 2:

Dial 1-866-953-7684

Option 3:

Call 1-800-375-5283

Press 1 to continue to English

Press 2 for case status

Press 1 if you know your receipt number

Press your receipt number 922(followed by your WAC#).

They will tell you to visit the website for the answer but press 3 or wait and you will be connected to a live agent.

Option 4:

Dial 1-800-375-5283 then press 1,2,2,4,2,1 then enter receipt number then press 1.

BTW this is information from the PDF on the first page of this thread.

Hey there,

So I called both numbers and went through all the options above (some of which no longer work - OPT 2 sends you to a telemarketer, OPT 4 has been updated to new numbers)

Eventually I reached an agent after finagling my way through the call options and then was sternly told not to call to check case status but to refer the the UCSIS website or "tools".

I mentioned that I have been keeping up with the processing time trends on VJ and my NOA2 was past what is currently trending and then was also told not to inquire again until after the 7 month mark...

If anyone else has had any luck over the phone I would love to hear your advice :)

Thank you in advance!

Your experience is like driving a new car and after reading the sticker on the window it says "your mileage may vary" and that is what you just encountered. With millions of people calling there have been many just like you who have received the same response. So you're not alone. The VJ timeline is determined by those of us who take the time to enter their information. Some do and some don't. USCIS doesn't give a flying "monkey" about VJ timetables. They have the gold so they make the rules and so using their timeline is what is suggested. Again, YMMV.

BTW, your explanations of the prompts doesn't help unless you recall exactly the sequence of prompts you used to get to a live operator. If and when you can help with that information I can update the PDF. Thanks for the heads up.

Congratulations. Now join us over in the December NOA2 to NVC to Embassy thread and download the PDF file contained in the first post on the first page. It has lots of neat tips, tricks and hacks to help you at this stage.
