last night I read someone write that they checked petitions on the site with numbers before and after theirs...  so I did the same (bad idea!!) and the petition number before mine was showing on the site as “case has been received” and the one after mine was approved on Oct 9th ....and today at work... the one before mine was approved today... I was truly bummed.. bummed because the petitions before and after mine were approved and mine was sitting at “received” .... then I had to remind myself that I’ve been patient this long and perhaps the anticipation of it perhaps being this week truly got to me..  I told myself that I’d be patient and enjoy the process and the past 2 days have been  torture with my constant website checking ... I just need to remind myself that we will receive it...  ok vent over lol..  

I would really suggest not doing that.  As it wont be any help.  We all go thru at different stages.  I know how frustrating it is but that may merely add to the low feelings

Instead of putting your full number, change it by one or two.

Does it actually work? I think it shows  different processes, or maybe I'm  using the wrong code. I lowered the last 2 digits of mine to 10 and it showed:  

Case Was Rejected Because It Was Improperly Filed

On August 28, 2019, we rejected your Form I-765, Application for Employment Authorization

which is  a different process. Mine says:

Case Was Received

On August 26, 2019, we received your Form I-129F, Petition for Alien Fiancé(e),

I am using the one that start with WAC, is it the right one?

It shows any and all cases. Could be K1s or not.

I agree- 

the case number was assigned in sequence - however we should recognize the complexities and difference in the individual cases - 

the distribution of cases to case officers may also dilute the linear expectancy . 

it is akin to expect the guy in front and after you when you enter the airport will arrive at their Individual destinations in the same order as they arrived ..

 

Use the date received - that is the best -statistical information may predict the likelihood of your case being processed at a particular time - but we need to allow for deviations - especially as all cases Are not equal.

I have to also assume that cases are spread out between different officers who probably work at different speeds. The level of complexity of your application must play a role in part too right? (i.e. children, past marriages, criminal history). I feel so much of it comes down to being in the lucky fast pile.
