I just had my interview at Fairfax office. The interview was scheduled on 9:30am. The officer called us to her office on time. She is super nice and professional. She went through some of the 485 yes/no questions first then only asked us how we met. The whole process took no more than 15 mins. At the end of the interview, she said she would recommend for approval. The status got changed to card being produced within half an hour.

Good luck to all of you that are in the process. Hang in there and you will get yours soon:)

Same thing USCIS told me when I called. I would go to the interview  since you already have your green card, go prepared to interview. They might catch themselves and call you a day before to tell you not to come, so it's  really your call if they do call you. I recommend you go regardless what happens take your husband's orders and of course  your GC your local  office can surely see you have been issued your green card already in their system. I know it's  a big hassle, but you have to cover your rear!

You are right. I do have one more concern, i would have to take my medical certificate record with me for the interview? We already submitted it with application and i think it has one year validity so it technically expired in June. Would i need to  get the medical exam done again before interview?

Are you talking about your DS 3025 form? As long as it was less than a year old when you filed your AOS and you took all the required shots then you will NOT need another medical for the interview.

Hi everyone,

Nov 2019 filer here -- still sitting on ready to schedule interview. Just want to share that I sent out my EAD renewal application (it's set to expire January 2021 and I didn't want to risk anything) end of July. I just received the new EAD card in the mail that's set to expire for January 2022. About to go for my AP now, but wanted to hear if anyone had any experience with that and if I could expect a similar timeline.

Best of luck to others waiting for interviews, and congrats to recent DCers that go tteir greencards approved!

Hello guys

i have a question from those who got their green card. My status says my card is being mailed to me.
I wonder that do I need to go to Social security office to update my ssn.
because I have already my ssn that when I file my I-485, I got also EAD and ssn.

Online saying that local social security Administration offices are closed and doing only tel and fax and online service.

 Has anybody experienced that?

let me know thanks

We had our interview yesterday. They didn't let us in the building earlier than our appointment time. the appointment was at 2:15 and they let us go inside the building at 2:15! We waited for 5 minutes in the waiting area before the interviewer called us. It went very smoothly and was very short. The interviewer was a super nice friendly lady. She asked how we met and when we decided to get married and looked at some of our pictures and asked some questions about our wedding. Then she went through the Yes/No questions in I-485. At the end she said that everything was clear and she just needed to go through our documents. She explained that my husband will receive a conditional 2 year GC and she would see us again for removal of condition interview in 2 years! I guess that means she's going to approve us hopefully soon! Hope we don't have to wait another few months for results!

Good luck to everyone having their interviews or waiting to be scheduled!

Thank you! We filed in April 2019, and did the medical exam in September 2019. We contacted USCIS before our interview to make sure the medical exam was still valid and they told us that since my husband did his medical after we filed AOS it will be valid for 2 years. We gave the medical envelope to the officer and she didn't say anything so it must have been ok!

as long as you submitted your AOS application within 60 days of getting your medical exam signed by the surgeon, it should be valid for 2 years. And congrats on getting your interview scheduled!
