If you had recently filed I-751 to remove conditions on your 2-year green card, how quickly did you receive the extension letter?

08/31/2016 - day 9 - electronic NOAs received via text and email, check is cashed.

09/08/2016 - day 17 - biometrics appointment notice received in the mail (appointment date 09/19/2016).

09/13/2016 - day 22 - early biometrics walk in.

10/28/2016 - day 67 - EAD status changed to "New Card Is Being Produced".

11/16/2016 - day 87 - EAD card received in mail.

06/27/2017 - day 309 - contacted the congressman office.

07/28/2017 - day 340 - finally received an interview appointment in mail (online status has not changed).

08/31/2017 - day 374 - Interview; I-485 status changed to 'New Card Is Being Produced'

My wife received her extension letter 7 days after the package was received at the Dallas PO Box....in early April.

"The US immigration process requires a great deal of knowledge, planning, time, patience, and a significant amount of money.  It is quite a journey!"

- Some old child of the 50's & 60's on his laptop 

 

Senior Master Sergeant, US Air Force- Retired (after 20+ years)- Missile Systems Maintenance & Titan 2 ICBM Launch Crew Duty (200+ Alert tours)

Registered Nurse- Retired- I practiced in the areas of Labor & Delivery, Home Health, Adolescent Psych, & Adult Psych.

IT Professional- Retired- Web Site Design, Hardware Maintenance, Compound Pharmacy Software Trainer, On-site go live support, Database Manager, App Designer.

August 7, 2022: Wife filed N-400 Online under 5 year rule.

November 10, 2022: Received "Interview is scheduled" letter.

December 12, 2022:  Received email from Dallas office informing me (spouse) to be there for combo interview.

December 14, 2022: Combo Interview for I-751 and N-400 Conducted.

January 26, 2023: Wife's Oath Ceremony completed at the Plano Event Center, Plano, Texas!!!😁

February 6, 2023: Wife's Passport Application submitted in Dallas, Texas.

March 21, 2023:   Wife's Passport Delivered!!!!

May 15, 2023 (about):  Naturalization Certificate returned from Passport agency!!

 

In summary, it took 13 months for approval of the CR-1.  It took 44 months for approval of the I-751.  It took 4 months for approval of the N-400.   It took 172 days from N-400 application to Oath Ceremony.   It took 6 weeks for Passport, then 7 additional weeks for return of wife's Naturalization Certificate..

18 months from the expiration date on the Green Card.

I think they have corrected whatever issues they had at the end of 2018/beginning of 2019 and now the extensions are coming within 2 weeks.

My husband received his extension letter within a week after our package was delivered. 18 months extension

In my wife's case, she entered the US via a CR-1 in 2017, and Texas gave her a driver's license for 7 years.  Hopefully, she will be a citizen before her license expires.

Since we’re on the subject, there are no additional forms to file with I-751, right?

 

It just seems so light in comparison with the AOS packet. And there is no question regarding trips outside of the US in this form either...

Light?  What did you submit??  I had near 500 pages.  

 

Unless you’re just clarifying that it’s just that one form, then yes.  No additional USCIS forms are required, but the evidence will stack up fast!

Yeah, I just meant in terms of forms.

 

I’ll submit some substantial evidence but I didn’t even submit that much evidence for my AoS. Don’t see a need in that to be honest. It’s very obvious that we live/travel/exist as a family together so.... 🤷🏼‍♀️
