Any money she gets is donated to charity. And I doubt there is much money to make on a dying world. She started a movement, people all around the world are finally speaking up about the fact that life on earth is dying.  Both the UK and Ireland has declared a climate emergency. Maybe we can save ourselves before it is too late.

She started a movement?  The world is dying?  I think some folks on the left say we have less than 10 years.  Personally, I think the earth is a lot more resilient than some people give it credit for, but if we do only have 10 years left, and the grand scale of the supposed issue, I don't think much will happen unless we start getting rid of CO2 emitters (i.e. animals). 

 

Btw, how do we know any money she receives is donated?  Also, are they donating the money from her mother's book?

It's not a left or right thing. It's our children and grandchildrens future. Earth will still be around but we and the animals won't.

As far as a child being exploited by adults, I don't really care how altruistic the topic is, that is just wrong.

UK has managed to be coal free for an entire week. 

My Granddad was a coal miner, pretty much all the mines are closed now, Natural Gas is the main source, a good chunk of that is imported. I can see there being major issues when things next kick off in the Middle East etc.

 

I certainly do not believe the lies hence my comments, always try and shine the light on reality.

 

I can see much bigger issues, pollution, land degradation etc. UK and a lot of Europe relies on imported food, going to get nasty, really nasty.

 

The reality is that of you want to go zero carbon by 2050 you are also wanting to go back to an 1850 lifestyle and good luck getting the votes for that. Look what is happening in France with a relatively minuscule change.

Which would pretty much require the use of animals for transportation, food, clothing, lights, etc. So much for zero carbon.

There is no such thing as a zero carbon world, never will be, so it amuses me when they keep on going on about it, how do you stop forest fires, volcanoes etc etc etc.

I know, it just shows the complete lack of comprehension as to the nature of things.

I always laugh when one of my colleagues (I work in academia, so it gets said a LOT) starts talking about how the world is going to end if we don't eliminate our consumption of fossil fuels, close nuclear power plants, etc, etc, etc. I usually just ask them where they are going to get the electricity to charge their cell phones, i-pads and drive their electric vehicles?? One said well I live in my bus and don't depend on electricity. (she converted an old short school bus into an RV type bus). The truth is she has a gas powered generator, the bus runs on diesel plus she has to move it every morning and night to avoid parking tickets, has a 2nd gas guzzler car and she mooches electricity off her boyfriend by staying at his house most of the time. But boy does she hate Trump for "destroying the environment".
