MAY 2019 K-1 NOA2 ----> NVC

Just to confirm, it is impossible to schedule interview in Kyiv until status goes to "ready" correct? We have case number from NVC, filed out DS160 and are ready to pay fee. If we pay fee will this allow us to schedule before "ready". Reason I ask is for some unexplainable reason, Kyiv embassy has gone from 2 weeks to wait for interview till Aug 14 as of today over the last couple weeks. People looking to schedule in middle of May were saying May appointments still available, but now June, July, and half of August is full.

Are we stuck waiting till the June 11 shipment and embassy receive before scheduling?

Yes they will send the information.  Right now you are in front of the horse trying to make it run faster. When its time the horse is going to begin to trot but you best be in the seat of the buggy in control of the reins when he does and not in front wondering what to do. Just saying.

Just received the Email from NVC stating that Petition has been forwarded to the consulate/embassy in Ankara, Turkey.

With my understanding the instructions, I will file DS-160, pay the fee to schedule the interview. double checking. Thanks

Check to ensure that it did leave NVC by using ceac.state.gov and choosing "immigrant" and entering your case number. Your status will officially show there. Follow the instructions from your embassy. I have grabbed a snippet of what required steps are.

BEFORE THE INTERVIEW

Once we receive the approved I-129F petition, we will contact the beneficiary/petitioner by email to provide "Instructions for KI/K2 Visas". When the beneficiary has collected all the documents specified in the Instruction Package, he/she should contact our service provider CSC to make an appointment and pay the fiancé visa fee. The appointment can be scheduled either online via www.usvisa-info.com or by calling 0 850 390 2884 from Turkey or (703) 520-2490 from the United States. Through CSC, all applicants should also arrange for the pickup of their passports by selecting a passport pickup location before their interviews.

In order to schedule your interview online or through the call center you should follow the steps below:

Upon receipt of Embassy’s notification, register online at www.usvisa-info.com or by calling 0 850 390 2884 from Turkey or (703) 520-2490 from the United States

Pay the K-1/K2 visa fee payment through www.usvisa-info.com or by phone at 0 850 390 2884 from Turkey or (703) 520-2490 from the United States

Schedule a K- 1/K2 visa interview appointment through www.usvisa-info.com or by phone at 0 850 390 2884 from Turkey or (703) 520-2490 from the United States

Choose your visa pick-up location

Print your registration receipt and bring it with you on your interview date with all the other required documents listed below.

Your asking those who are here from so many different embassy where you are asking "it's different for every embassy" questions. Please refer to your embassy information and I will help you with that. Go to your sub-forum for your country/region and ask your questions that are specific to your embassy. That's where you should be now as there is nothing more about your embassy here.

Does this mean it left already? No because it is controlled by the shipping schedule of every other week and the next shipments are 6/11 &12

That information is for a CR-1 visa and their interview dates are scheduled by NVC as they are a true immigrant visa. K-1's are a immigrant visa for awhile and then they convert to non-immigrant with immigrant intent just before the visa is issued. More on this here:

As a K1, when checking your case online at CEAC.state.gov you have to select "immigrant visa" as it is treated like as such even though it is a "non-immigrant visa".

Technically the K-1 is a non-immigrant visa but it is treated like an immigrant visa because of the AOS. It is kind of a ba$tard. Non-immigrant treated like an immigrant. Other non-immigrant visas do not usually end up with green cards!  The K-1 on its own is a single entry, short time limit visa that expires 90 days after POE. You are a non-immigrant (90 days limit) with immigrant intentions (GC). That is why it is a non-immigrant visa treated like an immigrant visa.

You have three stages 1) transit - shipment is in the air or soon will be, 2) received - physical case file is at the Embassy and 3) ready - your case is ready to schedule and complete your interview.  These will be your current state or status to your case file once you have received the case number.

I carefully picked "Immigrant Visa" in drop down box in VisaCheck Status section in CEAC web site. That is the respond given. May be is it because I received the email an hour ago and it is very new and it did not  proccesed in NVC yet?

Give it about 24 hours and it should update to the correct status. I have found that in all the places you check for your status, this one website is accurate. The others I don't trust as many times they have been wrong. This one seems to be accurate and therefor I agree with you, let it take some time before it updates.

Some people are lucky. I am definitely not among them cause it took forever for noa2 probably will be another long wait for NVC case number. Well I am going to wait what else I can do.

I’m also not a lucky one! Our noa1 was September 7, our Noa2 was May 15th, I just called the NVC today (June 4) and they still don’t have it.
