I keep hearing about this "how we met" letter too! I don't know who came up with that lol but you don't need it nor do I think it will improve your chances at approval in any way. There is a section in the form itself for a good reason and it does say you can extend it to an additional paper if you'd like but your main goal here is to explain how you met and when and where you've seen each other in person in the last two years. No extra sugar coating needed. You'll be fine with your intent to marry letters and your visitation proof w/ a few pics.

The "how we met" letter inventor and the "invitation/sponsorship for tourist visa" inventor are likely one and the same 😉

When we filed our i-129f back in 2015 we included a letter explaining how we met. Not a requirement to have a separate letter, but we chose to. Just explaining that we met online and then the dates for all the face-to-face visits. It was about 7 sentences all-in-all, no biggie.

If you choose to send a letter like that there's absolutely no need for the beneficiary to make one too. One is enough, you can do it yourself. Beneficiary only need to fix with the passport style photos and the letter of intent. And possibly passport stamps as proof of meeting if applicable.

K-1: 12-22-2015 - 09-07-2016

AP: 12-20-2016 - 04-07-2017

EAD: 01-18-2017 - 05-30-2017

AOS: 12-20-2016 - 07-26-2017

Thank you. I am certain that I have enough evidence that I was there with her. Some very detailed photos-- landmarks  (castles, iconic squares), different times of the year (Winter, Summer, Fall), all the receipts,  entry stamps, some train tickets from for us both at the same time (same train). I just worry so much about everything. Which the more and more I read here-- seems to be normal.

Although I know this is a joke, my understanding is that I really only need to supply evidence of chat history and so forth when the Embassy meeting is scheduled, correct? I mean we have tons and tons of chat history dating back three years, but I just dont think I need to provide all that much. Skype Call Logs, Some Telegram/Whatsapp chats should be sufficient enough. Yes?

Kyiv is a very reasonable embassy.   A good sampling of relationship evidence is all you need.  It's all I did when we did Kyiv a few years back

You don't need overwhelming amount of evidence for Kyiv. Don't overthink things. Also US Embassy website in Kyiv unlike many other Embassies gives very good detailed information about everything you will need for the Embassy step of the process.

Yes) I have read this on the portal for Kyiv. All this is such a nervous rush to me since I proposed without really thinking about the immigration process. I intended to immigrate to Ukraine, but things have changed with her family and now it is more suitable for her to move to the United States.

Thank you for your warm words. My brother filed for his fiancee's visa about seven months ago, but he hired an immigration lawyer in Poland and he also lives there with her. So he hasn't been able to help with anything. So glad I found this place.

StormCloudRising, I just had my I-129F approved by USCIS and this is how I did it: Listen to the advice of (most) people here and front load the application.  I had my fiance sign the example 'letter of intent to marry' from this forum. We had only met twice in 2018 but continued chatting via Whatsapp. So I included some 'snapshots' of some of or conversations. If you follow the guide in the K-1 flowchart, you will be ok. Like others that have said, do not bind or clip it. Mine was all loose leaf, but in order. About a pound of papers. Good luck!

The letter of intent is just a simple statement saying that you both agree to marry within the 90 days.

I did NOT include a letter on 'how we met' at ALL and I was approved with no RFE

03/01/2019 - USCIS Chicago lockbox received case  for AOS/EAD/AP

03/21/2019 - NOA1 received hard copy via post (Notice date 03/14/2019)

You are quite right, but some people do not know how to put intentions onto paper. The examples listed here worked for me. I just 'cut-and-paste' dates, names, and places as necessary. As for the "How you met", In Part 2 Item 53 says, "Have you and your fiancé(e) met in person during the two years immediately before filling out this application" I hope you would check 'Yes' since that is what they are looking for. Item 54 says, "If you answered 'Yes' to Item 53., describe the circumstances of your in-person meeting in Item 54. Attach evidence to demonstrate that you were in each other's physical presence during the required two year period." This is where you would add photos of you visiting your fiance. I just put a line in there stating that we met each other on line at X dating site. We later communicated on Whatsapp and continue to communicate on that medium. What you do is up to you, this worked for me.
