Spouse petition is approved and received a letter stating that i have to wait at least 30 days if no contact from NVC then  i should email then. Should i wait that long?

Hi franc please fill out your timeline to help us all out with better data on the service center and process.

It's going to take anywhere from 2-8 weeks for your case number but you can always call once a week until you get it to get a jump start on the process. Snail mail is slow.

30 days sounds about right.  In late 2016, it took our case a month to go from NAO2 to having a case number.......I don't think the process has improved much, if at all, since then........

All you can do is wait.  Calling is a pain at NVC and doesn't do anything but frustrate you and take up a lot of time trying to get through, waiting on hold forever.  We received our NVC case number by email 7 weeks after NOA2 date.  Just forget about it for a few weeks and use the time to prepare all your documents for uploading.
