Which website is more accurate?

So....this whole time I thought I was on the new website but only to find I've been on the old one...oh well.

Question is...which is more accurate?

Old one says my case was received 27th July 18 but we had to file to have my name changed as they has mispelt it on the NOA1 and there is a history of dates and reference numbers for them dealing with it.

The new site says cased received 1st August with no mention of the name change request history.

So now I don't know if I'm a July flier or August??

Ultimately it doesn't matter. You are free to post in as many as few threads as you like. I know I sure as heck was monitoring June and and July thread, even if I am ostensibly an "August" filer.

The new one (https://myaccount.uscis.dhs.gov) was in the lead with us but recently the old one (https://egov.uscis.gov) has taken over.

When the cases were approved all three of my petitions showed "approved" on the new site and "received" on the old.  When they were sent to DOS the new site reflected that they were sent to NVC while the new site showed "approved".  Now both are agreeing that all three petitions are heading to NVC.

I know that doesn't answer the questions but that is what I've experienced.

As far as the date to use, use the notice date on your NOA1.  It truly doesn't matter as they are not completely doing things in order.

I just went off the date of the first one we received as they told my partner they would just send out a new one.

There was this moment of hope when I realised I was logging into the new one it might have some news the old didn't but nope...still waiting lol

Don't be discouraged. Neither website for me was updated, paper NOA2 just showed up in the mailbox. My experience is not unique either, it seems there are quite a few that never get updated on either website for whatever reason. I, personally, find it very annoying as it messing with my OCD, and contributes to my eroding trust into the system.

Ahh i'm just becoming super impatient so checking to much and unable to just chill out lol

What makes it worse at the moment is that there could be a approval or even a RFE sat in his mail box but he's out of town on work at the moment, has been for nearly 2 weeks and his sister keeps forgetting to check the mail for me so I am completely crawling the walls for some kind of information and I don't want to be the annoying sister in law to be that bugs her everyday lol  Plus seeing more and more people from August and September getting approval is really cranking up the frustrations!

It's five days and insignificant. Be whichever you want if you are talking about a VJ group to hang out with. Better yet is hang out here and learn what's coming next https://www.visajourney.com/forums/forum/99-united-kingdom/

Both sites were not updated when my case was approved. I actually called and was told on the phone first, and a few days later got paper NOA2 in the mail. Funny enough, case was updated only on the old site when they sent it to NVC.

I found that the new site was more accurate but in the end paper is king! 🙂

Not a newbie but lost my old info years ago) I have been through this process before --all the way through naturalization-- This site has always been a great help to me.
