Hi, I just read a review of a recent k1 interview in Manila. They asked her about her fiance's bankruptcy. I do not see that question on any forms. How would they know that?

My guess is that it was mentioned somewhere in the petition.  Maybe in the story how they met?  A bankruptcy is a court action so it may be in the Federal Database.  My guess is it was mentioned somewhere.

You're asking how the federal government would know about a personal bankruptcy .. ?         It's public record.   Besides they probably would know his favorite beer if they wanted.

Correct.  Never volunteer information they don’t ask for.

But it is strange that they brought it up. They know more about me than I know about myself.

They had their reasons .. there is more about this guy then we will ever know .. and that caused the embassy to ask.

With my wife the CO asked me more questions than her, then when he was done he had to call her back up to his window as he forgot to give her the oath ... you know - Do you swear  -

No such question on the I-134

It was probably somewhere in the financial records and that's why they asked.
